Making Good Screenshots for Skyrim

My computer is kind of low-end so most graphics replacers/decent settings are out. I still enjoy taking screenshots, but I've never been a terribly--popular? Highly regarded? screenshot maker. So I'm curious: what makes for awesome screenshots that grab attention and are win and all that? It obviously isn't just Boobs and Butts aka skimpy attire, and it isn't just "Toss in an anime chick" and sometimes not even a cool setting or event because I've seen screenshots with one or more of those with not one endorsement that I think are awesome... so I'm really curious as to what makes you press the Endorse button?

I can't do anything about my current PC, but I was curious what everyone thinks/what advice they might have.

Look at the examples I give in my edit. Doesn't necessarily have to be fighting, just something that looks good, like:

Very cool, and I see what you mean :) Especially that last one, he's the only one there, yet stuff is going down.

Yes, composition, and something happening is usually enough to make a nice screen shot. Sometimes you're lucky though and get a great action shot, pausing at the right time, like the first two pics in my first post, or like:

Or a simple stand off, like:

Or even a pic that has fighting, but is vague and/or assuming in it's conflict, like:

Though even the mundane can make for a good screenshot, like a guy chopping wood, or playing the Lute:

And even things like profile shots can look good, with the right setting:

Or you can set up shots that never happened in the game, but look like it in the picture, like my Inquisitor beheading a guy he never beheaded in game:

huh. i've never really taken screenshots unless i thought the sky was pretty, but...you've really provoked my interest with the topic. Enation - excellent posts. (And images.) I really love the shot of the arrow. Was it a pure luck shot, or?

The one with the arrow right by his head? Yes, pure luck. I was showing some of my characters on the TESF and I assaulted that Stormcloak camp about 30 times just to get a few screenshots that were worthy of Legate Jorr the Mountain.

As you can see, he truly is a mountain.

Or how about my Doc Brown-esque Dwemer Archaeologist getting startled by a wolf.
