James009
Alright, so I pre-ordered X-COM from STEAM and was wondering, how many options per armor should be available under Armor Deco? For example, I believe the basic default body armor gives me two options (or is it 3?), same for Carapice (or whatever it's called), and Skeleton Armor. I enjoy having a good bit of variety in armors and was wondering if there should be more armor variety or if this is expected. Also, is there any other ways to increase the number of armor deco options available? Thanks. Can't wait for the modding community to really dig into this game. Perraine
The problems are a bit complicated, because of the number of little mini cutscenes the game uses, it might be hard to make to many variations on the armours, although the game uses the actual "engine" to create many of them ... plus you'd probably need a utility to unpack and repack the upk files ... Unpacking is OK, but repacking, is the problem because I think you need to actually have paid for the rights to the Unreal engine to do that
Ichthyic
Note that some have decos that are "hidden". the psi suit, for example, has two variants, but to see each, you need to equip something like basic body armor and change the decos on that, then swap to the psi suit. AFAICT, all the armors have 2 variants.

AFAICT, all the armors have 2 variants. Is this actually fact? When I attempt that I always end up with just the default PSI armor look. I'm unable to "Deco" any of my armors beyond Skeleton. Jigain
In related news, I think I recall someone from Firaxis talking about "adding deco and tint for ghost and psi armor" in either a patch or a DLC. Don't remember where it was, though, so maintain critical thinking.
CuriousMarten
I believe that's a bug (getting skeleton > changing deco > equipping titan or some other high tier armor). Its possible, try it out guys but there's clipping if you look closely. It doesn't bother me but I'm just sayin'. Hope they don't fix it if it indeed is a bug. EDIT: Also decos differ, each one of the low tier ones has a different one, so you can have a mix and match thing goin' on. Happy customizing!
