Mesh exchange question

For role play purposes, I want to replace the player-crafted Elven armor and Elven Gilded armor meshes with the Leather armor (or maybe Steel armor) meshes. I'm not looking to change names, stats, crafting materials or anything else; it's purely an aesthetic for my own game and not something I'm looking to package for redistribution.

Is this possible by just copying and renaming the Leather armor meshes and textures as Elven armor and placing them in the Data folder? I know this can be done with textures, but I'm not sure if that works for meshes as well. I'm at work and can't test it, nor can I find the answer online, and I'm itching to know if it's that simple.

I assume this mesh exchange will have an effect on NPCs wearing Elven armor and Elven Gilded armor (and Light Elven armor?), but I guess I can live with that as long as I don't have to wear it. :)

Works with meshes fine. Take the leader armor meshes from armor/studded, transfer them to the mesh folder for elven armor meshes/armor/elven (I think), and rename them to match the name of the elven armor pieces you are replacing. No need to change any texture files either, since the meshes will point to their proper texture files already. Edited by Kapt

Thanks, Kapt, for the confirmation and the tidbit about not having to move the textures.
