Warburg
I have released a replacement texture for the World Map. For me, the enjoyment that comes from exploring a new land is getting to know the land. A more detailed map will hopefully bring a more immersive experience to users, and help them connect to the land better. Instead of say, following a map marker to a location, instead, one could reference locations, rivers, lakes, or borders to areas. I was intending on releasing this texture once I completed another mod that benefits from having this map, but I will release that in the coming days. It is based on the original parchment version of the Skyrim map High Resolution Screenshots: Original - http://imageshack.us/a/img198/505/originalenh.jpg My Texture - http://imageshack.us/a/img515/7048/allroads.jpg Changes from original: - I relocated the names of locations so that they will not get covered up by map markers, even if all of them are unlocked. - More visible text - More visible Hold borders - More visible river and lake's Link to download - My link Credits go to: Warburg - Creating map texture nushu - Creating original Mesh MoonD - For continuing support and updating with his own enhancements
JanusForbeare
Just downloaded, and I'll likely endorse once I've tried it out in-game. One big advantage I can see about something like this is reduced load-time when pulling up the map. I never understood why Bethesda removed so many useful and well-loved features during the transition from Oblivion to Skyrim, and this was definitely on that list. While I'm on the subject, a few other items on that list are first-person horseback riding, the ability to rotate the camera while moving, player head tracking (thankfully the modding community managed to produce a solution to that one), player statistics, and armour/weapon degradation. At the rate things are going, I'm expecting that the next game in the series will be TES VI: Modern Warfare. [/rant] Anyways, good job, the map looks great! MrDidz
Is this mod no longer available on steam? I can't seem to find it by searching for warburg; paper or map. ++++ Ok! gave up on Steam Workshop and downloaded it manually from Nexus. But I have a problem and I'm not sure whats causing it. See:http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=205585205 There are actually two issues: 1. I can't zoom out any further than is shown in the screen shot, so thats the limit of the area of the map I can see at any one time.2. The visible area is overlaid with map markers that are in totally the wrong place, possibly because of 1 above. I've switched off the SkyUI Map Menu flag, but I'm not sure what is causing these other issues. Edited December 20, 2013 by MrDidz
MrDidz
Has nobody got any ideas why this mod is not working for me? I really hate the vanilla map, but until I can get this one to work I'm stuck with it.
