AllahOwnsYou
Hey guys, I've started downloading some mods after I started Saturday or so. I've 6/7 times I've downloaded a house mod, it seems to crash my game right at the picture of the Skyrim Symbol on the Main Menu. I was wondering, since i'm new if anyone longing in the past has gotten this same problem. I'm looking forward to downloading House Mods and i would really appreciate it if i can get some feedback on how to fix this problem. Thanks
Korel
I would first check your plugins.txt located in Users/<insertname>/AppData/Local/Skyrim and see if it has more then 1 (one) listing of skyrim.esm at the top. I found this to be a common problem when adding new mods Edited October 16, 2012 by Korel
AnkhAscendant
Crashing right at the logo is usually the sign of missing master files. Do the house mods say the require any other mods, Dawnguard/Hearthfire, or the latest update? If a mod requires an .esm or .esp file that you don't have, it will crash the game like that. I've never seen the doubled-up Skyrim.esm problem, but I've heard of it, so yeah, check that too. I believe if it has that problem you just need to delete one of them from the file. I found this to be a common problem when adding new mods I'm really not sure whats going on with the folder but this is basically what i got. Should i find the skyrim.esm and copy it into there or any other method you have? I mean Skyrim works fine when i take off the house mod. But if adding the .esm allows me to have the house mod up i'll be glad to try and find the Skyrim.esm and add it in
AnkhAscendant
No, you need to open and read the "plugins" file, and see if it has skyrim.esm in it twice.

AllahOwnsYou
Hmm not working I would also like to point out that I Re-checked the Plugins Text and a small not appeared at the top saying # This file is used by Skyrim to keep track of your downloaded content.# Please do not modify this file. I'm not sure if that usually happens, but it did. Just for the refrence the mod i am trying to add into game is the Amethyst Hollows House Mod. Just incase it helps. I've been trying to read the Description over and over but I can't seem to find any other solution Edited October 16, 2012 by AllahOwnsYou
