hana1015
More specifically, the torch sconces. More than a few guides (like creationkit.com) tell me to simply go to Warehouse Prefabs, copy the sconce and the light, then paste it wherever you want. I copied both RemovableTorchSconce01 and the light, then placed onto where I want it to be. However when I tried to activate it in game, it doesn't work. The sconce is visible but no torch nor light. I cannot put torch on the sconce, it doesn't light up. I teleported into the warehouse prefabs and activated the torch sconce there, it works. Is there anymore thing I should do other than copying the scone and the light? Any idea why it doesn't work when I pasted it into another cell? Does it not work in an outdoor cell? I'm new to modding, any help would be appreciated.
hana1015
Never mind. Found the solution. I facepalm myself so hard. All I needed to do was enter a different cell, then come back to the cell I worked the mod on. Or just load another save to begin with. Thanks to this old thread I dug up: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/topic/6589-wipzenter-the-dragonborn/&do=findComment&comment=99854
NexusComa
If you're talking about them torches you need to set that up so the fire is activated by the holder. Take a look at how the sconces are setup under the activate tab.
NexusComa
When modding ... you always use a save that has never seen any of your mods data (like right outside the door). When you check your work you always go back to that save.
maxarturo
As NexusComa already said above. Also if you need to "Copy / Paste" something from any vanilla cell either if it's a Warehouse Prefabs or a Playable Cell's object. Always Copy > Paste > DUPLICATE the Pasted Object > and delete the Pasted Object > do what you want with the Duplicate. The reason behind this is that otherwise the Copy / Pasted item will show up as a "Dirty Edit" in Tes5Edit. * For simple testing like this, is preferable to "coc" to that cell and not use a save at all. NexusComa
Yep, then you have to use TES5Edit and remove the reference in the other cell you copied from. Just click on it and press delete.I've actually got into the habit now of getting a copy then duplicating it then removing the copy. Seems to work out better. Alsoif you have the right angle button pushed when you look in other cells and click into them it will leave "dirty edits" too.
