Dragon Age Modding

Okay, I posted a similar question on the Dragon Age 2 forums, but it's not actually the same question. That question was whether it's possible to mod the subtitle text in DA2.

This question is here because it's not specifically about Dragon Age 1 or 2, and therefore it doesn't totally fit in either forum. Plus there are many posts with no replies in the DA forums, so I thought posting in the off-topic section might be the fastest way to get a response without breaking any rules.

Is it possible to use the DAO toolset to extract subtitle text in DA2, and if so, which archive should I be looking in? If you know the answer to one or both of those questions, please reply. Even if you only know a little. I'm in a dark cave without a light at the moment.

Go to DA2 modding, people there can help

Actually quite a few questions go completely unanswered there. :\ I've tried asking a few myself and they just sit around until they disappear into the old, unwanted threads.

On topic though I'm not really sure. I haven't used the DA toolset in ages and I never tried looking for the subtitles in DA2. Although if they could be found I would think they would be in one involving conversations or cutscenes or maybe if there is a general kind of base archive. I haven't ever looked through DA2 so I don't know if any of those even exist.

Sorry I'm probably not being much help without actually having the toolset to go try this stuff right now and never having done it before. :P

I hope someone comes along who can help though.

I recently found a forum topic where people were discussing the effects of modifying dialogue in DA2, so I guess it's possible. Apparently each line can be edited, but editing the line makes the lineID change. This lineID links to the voice file, so if a line is edited the voice acting automatically is removed for that line, unless you go back and change the lineID of the dialogue. That's what it sounded like at least. Now I just need to find where the dialogue/subtitles are stored...
