hey all - forgive me if im asking a covered question but frankly i dont feel like reading every post to find out something everybody else probably knows in two seconds

 

played through the game several times but not since probably february. returned recently, re-installed xcom and the warspace mod, started playing like i always had

 

now despite investing in ship weapons right from the very start, i cant shoot down the SECOND wave of ships at all. consequently, the second round of satellites i put up get shot down and countries are bailing

 

is this some new uber hard standard in the mod now? or did i miss some kind of difficulty parameter? and yeah i started the game on the least hard legit setting available in the mod, whatever that was called

 

i feel like theres nothing i can do to stop the ships from shooting down my satellites, which im certain didnt happen before at least this early. either im screwing up a setting or the mod has changed the game in a way that makes it not fun anymore. so hoping its the former actually

 

clarification: at the level i usually play i didnt lose any countries at all in my previous playthroughs. now im losing several at a time. is that intentional?

yeah i was probably thinking of an earlier version of this mod or perhaps even another one. i played so many times with diff conditions that i simply messed up the order. now that im doing it again i remember the order you have to go in. so basically im remembering what i forgot

 

this is probably not the place to ask this but as of my last play this was easily the best mod that was out there imo, none of the others came close. it certainly made the original game almost unplayable. since then, are there any other mods that have emerged that are considered on/near this level and worth another play through?

I've been playing Warspace for a couple of days, i love it, it really elevates the game. I've run into a bug however. I get a "Contact Detected" prompt. When i lunch an interceptor, i get a few other voice prompts saying "Contect Detected". Then i see the world map, 3 UFO contacts, and nothing is moving. The game stays still and i could just press ESC and return to desktop.

Can anyone help?

 

EDIT: Figured out the bug, sometimes several UFO's will come at once. If you engage the first one, the others will cause the game to freeze. You're supposed to ignore all contacts first, and then engage them at will.

Version 1.75 - 1 May 2013

First of all i have installed this mod on the Version 1.72 that i had previously installed

 

The mod is beautiful, really improve the gameplay of an already good game, but i have found something that could be fixed or modified:
Possible Bugs:
- when you capture a drone with the modded arc thrower and decide to overload it the ok button doesn't appear

- when you kill an heavy floater, when its weapon self destroy appear "Floater heavy plasma rifle...." instead "Heavy Floater plasma rifle.."this is a little misleading

- the psi rank interface (in the operative barracks) is a little bugged

- the health of my new operative are decreasing: my first operative had 5 points, now they have 2 points.

the only thing i'll modified in the WE is the Allien Alloy quantity:

I have about 200 engeneers
titan armor = about 300 alloy

archangel armor = about 370 alloy

ghost armor = about 380 alloy

-----------------

plasma pistol = about 50 alloy

light plasma rifle = about 70 alloy

plasma rifle = about 140 alloy

heavy plasma rifle = about 160 alloy

sniper plasma rifle = about 200 alloy

alloy cannon = about 190 alloy

 

WHEN

 

Firestorm = ONLY 15 alloy

fusion lance = ONLY 5 alloy

emp = ONLY 20 alloy

 

There is something wrong in this, so i suggest OR to decrease a little the requirement for the equipment

(and increase the resources for the aircrafts and their weapons) OR to increase the quantity of alloy found

in all the alien ship

Is not possible nor realistic that a titan armor need the same amount of alloy of 20 firestorm!!!!!!!!!!!!
