HarryJPotter
I saw a lot of great mods out there, but no one did Hogwarts castle from Harry Potter yet?I even found blueprints if someone wants to start creating this mod. (PS I'll do it myself if I knew how to mod) http://i.imgur.com/4eUZW.jpg Few errors on this blueprint, like Slytherin common room suppose to be in dungeons Another hogwarts plans I'm sure quests can be added to this castle afterwards. LarsDragonborn
That would be awsome if someone could make that mod. I've always wanted to explore the Hogwarts Castle. Sadly i just started with learning how to mod. it will be a while or quite some time before i ever try to take on that kind of a project. Modding can be something to injoy but it also can be a pain if you dont know what your doing. but best of all. good luck and hope someone will pick up this project

bben46
As for the name. It seems that a certain author is extremely protective of the 'unique' names of people, places and things used in her books and has been known to sue people for using them in fanfiction and especially in games as she has licensed those rights to a big name company. So, we recommend if you want something like the HP universe in a FREE mod that doesn't have to pay royalties or be sued. You just adjust the mod to be enough different that it hopefully doesn't attract the interest of her rabid law firm. Here is an example of the kind of lengths they go to 'protect' the image. http://query.nytimes...751C0A9639C8B63
JanusForbeare
Here is an example of the kind of lengths they go to 'protect' the image. http://query.nytimes...751C0A9639C8B63 I have to say that the US Army's fair use defence was pretty weak in that case. I'm not entirely clear on whether or not Preventative Maintenance Monthly is a free publication or is sold to the troops, but either way, Rowling's intellectual property was pretty clearly being appropriated for the purposes of increasing the publication's appeal. On the other hand, going after authors of fanfiction is pretty low. I was never a fan of Rowling's work to begin with, but hearing that makes me like her even less. And, to get back on subject, I'd like to second AnkhAscendent in his recommendation of the Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The mod was inspired by the HP books and/or movies - and it also adds a bunch of very useful spells, particularly for use against higher-level opponents. bben46
@Janus - those army , navy and other service maintenance and safety publications are free and are often required reading. Over the years they have used nearly every comic book, cartoon and movie character as well as made up some of their own cartoon characters. Most with subtle changes in name or art so they won't be confused with the original. The purpose of the cartoon type presentation is to get the troops to actually read what is usually a very boring subject. No one else has ever complained (that I know of) and some have even helped with the art. The mod itself is fine, I just want them to be aware that J K's lawyers have web crawlers to find every instance of any of her copyrighted names and ideas. They have intimidated several fan websites into shutting down because they were allowing fan fiction or other content that they objected to. And they have even gone after some that had nothing to do with her books at all - Harry the Potter - A ceramics business in Myrtle Beach SC run by a guy named Harry. That one was thrown out of court.
