Ella81
Ello! I have strange habbit, of playing favorite games for let's say, a month, and then making brakes for some time, and again playing for some time. After one of such brakes with Skyrim, I found most of the mods are not working anymore! I don't know if steam did some update to the game, or maybe mod manager was updated. But I was going to reinstall Windows anyway, so I decided to make a fresh start with mods. The only thing is, that I don't much remember how to install mods to Skyrim, really, I did it once at the very beginning, and then I haven't touched it for 2-3 years. Now the only thing I want is to use some graphic mods, to make this game look OK again. And I want to use mod manager only, because years ago I've installed some mods manually, some with mods manager, it was obvious it will crash eventually. I know I need some EBN (do I write it OK?) and some textures, I specially would like really epic looking water, cause water is for me the most important element in any game I play, water MUST look cool. I remember I've also used some mod, that was changing shapes of some objects, like ropes, varius tiny stuff. But I even don't know how to start. I already have working Immersive Horses mod, that means I also have launcher, and some other thing, that also is needed for Immersive Horses. I don't plan to use tones off mods, I only need to use better textures, and other stuff for the game to look better. Original horse system I find hard to accept, so I've installed Immersive Horses, now horses works fine. And agai, I have Legendary Edition, not Special Edition. NexusComa
I do it all manually ... You just download the mod, unpack the .rar file. Then move all the files to the data folder. It's as easy as that. It's also a good ideal to keep a full back up of your Skyrim folder or at least data folder in case you need to roll back.Oh ya missed a few steps ... lol, You also need to add the mod name modname.esp to your loadorder.txt and plugins.txt files.found in ??:\Users\??\AppData\Local\Skyrim\ ... Now if you're going to be adding a few mods you should use a program like LOOT9to figure out your best load up order. Ella81
I remember, there was a case, where I needed to use NMM anyway, to install a mod or two, cause otherway it was hard to do, or impossible to do, I don't remember. If my memory serves me, it was a mod, that was supposed to change shapes of few things, But getting back to the main subject, I have this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/41076 But I'm not sure If it's all installed OK, cause I don't see much difference. I've found history of downloading here on Nexus quite convinient... but yet, some mods may work different now, than they used to work. Thankfully, Immersive Horses still works OK. I love horses, to be honest, I've started playing this game mostlly because of horses, so seeing them dying in game, wouldn't be nice at all....
