varkonasnorse
When I run CK on my laptop, I get the old multiple masters error message on anything other than vanilla characters or objects. I use CK on my desktop machine also, but I never get this error on that machine. This a very frustrating situation, and there just 'has' to be a solution for it somewhere. I have asked this question before and have received the standard answer: "edit your Skyrim Editor.ini file with bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1", and to edit the archive line to include all the .bsa files. None of this stuff works...period. When I run CK on my laptop, it won't start unless I am online and connected to Steam (Not a problem on my desktop machine. I can run it without being online). I suspect that the rungameid link in Steam that the CK defaults to is re-writing my .ini files, thereby removing the corrected multiple master line and returning it to the default "0". If I try to run CK off-line I get an error message that the program is unable to initiate. Now, I know there has to be someone out there that has also experienced this problem and found a solution for it. I am searching for that person to give me some insight as to how I go about correcting this annoying situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S.- I have re-written my .ini files 'til I'm blue in the face, so please, no more of that 'cuz it don;t work at all. I am running Skyrim LE, not SE. Thanks boys and girls. Edited October 26, 2019 by varkonasnorse
wfandrews
Have you made your ini files read only after configuring? That's all I got.

varkonasnorse
Ok, no, that didn't work either. Guess I'll just have to chalk it up to a lost cause. Thanks for the suggestion though.
