watdocdude
Sneaking just brings up the Pick pocket screen. The readme doesn't explain recruiting at all...Sheesh! What is the name of the character you were trying to interact with when you got the Pickpocket screen?None of the Characters that come with the mod work, but the one I use to test on the most would probably be a NPC named Beth  First of all you can't recruit any non-mod added NPCs with this CM Partners mod. It has to be a character added by the mod. I'm trying to figure out how you know that the CM Partner-added characters don't work? Have you tried sneak mode activating with ones that were added by the mod, they will include a couple of goblins at the waterfront, a skeleton at the cometary outside whitegold tower..The NPC Beth came with the mod...This is strange... myrmaad
I have OBSE. I use it every time I start oblivion. It's possible I installed the Shivering Isles addition, but there's nothing about it in the Data Files menu. There are three files at that mod link to choose from. So figuring out whether you installed the SI edition is important, especially if you have SI, but more because I'm trying to figure out the most important thing, which CM partners plugins you installed. There are many to choose from, but you must have three. Furthermore, if you download a custom CM Partner, you don't need anything but the master plugin and the custom plugin, I believe, so that's easier. Something like this or any of the ones that have good ratings.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15150
watdocdude
This is confusing. Any other mods out there that share the same purpose, with lots of uploaded companions and all that jazz?
myrmaad
This is confusing. Any other mods out there that share the same purpose, with lots of uploaded companions and all that jazz? Not that I know of. Are you using the Oblivion Mod Manager? At this point I really need to see your load order in order to help.In OBMM:Click the Import/Export button on the right:http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image1.jpgThen Choose View Load Order from the drop boxhttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image3.jpgYou'll get a list box with your load orderhttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image4.jpgClick the Disk at the top menu to savehttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image5.jpgGive it a name and save it on your desktophttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image6.jpg Open the document in wordpad or notepad and CNTL+A To select all, CNTL+C to copy all, and then Reply to this thread and press CNTL+V to paste all into your reply. Also please re-read this from the readme:First Time Installation: To install the plugin, unzip the files into a backup directory and look at the file structure. Only copy the files needed to the Oblivion/Data Files directory. The Partners Mod is divided into three types of files included, the main CM Partners.esm, the main CM Partners.esp, and a number of NPC esp files. There are two versions of the main files in the directories marked Oblivion Only and Oblivion and SI. Copy the main files that match the version you have installed on your computer. If you don’t want your Partner NPCs to go invisible when the Player uses invisibility potions and spells, also copy the CM Partner.esp file from the appropriate subfolder marked NoInvisibility to Data Files and overwrite the existing file. Here is a packing list of files and a description of each one: a. CM Partners.esm – Basic Mod with all the dialogue, scripting, AI Packages, etc. Includes 1 beast and 7 minions placed in the Imperial City.b. CM Partners.esp – Places the Partners inventory chest in the game world and modifies scripting to use it. Do not edit this file. Leave it intact and create your own mod. c. CM Partners NPC.esp – Places 9 Partner NPCs in the Imperial City and one minion for Beau in the All Saints Inn in the Temple District..d. CM Partners NPC NE.esp – Makes the 9 Partner NPCs in the Imperial City non-essential. e. CM Partners More NPCs.esp – Places 58 Partner NPCs in taverns, inns, etc. throughout the game world.f. CM Partners More NPCs NE.esp – Makes the 58 Partner NPCs non-essential.g. CM Partners Marked NPCs.esp – Places 2 essential Partner NPCs in the Imperial City with map markers activated.h. CM Partners Special.esp – Places 2 special Partner NPCs in the Waterfront District. These have special abilities to train, repair armor, etc. To play the mod without any work, at least three files must be activated: CM Partners.esm, CM Partners.esp, and at least one of the NPC esp files, either plain or NE, but not both, unless you want twice the NPCs. To do so will cause sets of twins to appear in the Imperial City, or wherever Partner NPCs are found and may cause conflicts.

myrmaad
Great job. First off, please move your Oblivion.esm to the very top of your list, it really does need to be first. Second, you don't have "CM Partners.esp" in that list. From the readme:To play the mod without any work, at least three files must be activated: CM Partners.esm, CM Partners.esp, and at least one of the NPC esp files You've got CM Partners.esm, and you've got an NPC esp, but you don't have the CM Partners.esp plugin in there. Once that's settled.. Any new custom CM Partners you download will still require the CM Partners.esm and CM Partners.esp files, but you can delete the NPC esps, if you add a custom, or you can keep them all active. Obviously this is for after you get it all worked out. By the way, if this doesn't resolve it, you should re-download the Shivering Isles OBSE version and reinstall, making sure you get these three plugins loaded. Just to be sure you got the right version for your setup. Anyway good luck I have to go to bed, it's midnight.
watdocdude
I don't know. I'll fiddle with it in the morning. I could use some sleep. I'm in the central American timezone.
myrmaad
Notice I edited that last post! I dreamed about this and it woke me up, There's No Shivering Isles plugin in your load order! Again from the readme: First Time Installation: To install the plugin, unzip the files into a backup directory and look at the file structure. You have the ones in blue, you're missing the one in red. Just put it into your Data folder, and make sure you've checked it. If you're not sure whether you used the Oblivion Only version, just replace all three of those with ones from that folder. You can sort your plugins in OBMM at the bottom left, by selecting "Active", and any new plugins you missed or that didn't get checked will show up at the bottom of your list. No check in the box means "Inactive" -- at least until you start messing with Wrye Bash. To see the load order, just select "Load Order" again. To move your Oblivion.esm to the top of your load order, (Don't forget!) right-click on it and choose "move to the top".
