RipCityOR
So my question is, is it possible to access The Outer worlds files (not %appdata% files) to install a re-shade when you have the game through Xbox Game Pass? No matter how hard I try, Windows won't allow me access to the windows store files to even look at the files for The Outerworlds. Anyone know how to do it? MechWipf
You need to be the owner of the files or at least in a group that owns the files in "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" (a hidden folder) There is a way to add yourself as owner by opening the Properties of the folder and selecting the Security tab. Click on Advanced and change the owner: I suggest you use the Administrators group as new owner, this will lower the attack vector since you still need admin rights to access the folders. The default owner of those files and folders is "NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller" should you want to change it back.It is possible that the store will just revert your changes with the next update of the game. And as last a fair warning. You are not supposed to access those files and I recommend that you change all rights back to TrustedInstaller afterwards. EDIT: It looks like even after changing those Security settings that the actual game folder is owned by SYSTEM which can't be changed and you can't change anything. So thats a roadblock.
