Having difficulties with the NVSE

Hey there, After playing Fallout New Vegas recently I had decided to take the game to next level and start playing with mods, upon inspection I found that there were mods that required something called the NVSE, or New Vegas Script Extender.

 

So I downloaded the the latest version and as reading through the instructions I found my self stumped at a very early stage.

one of the first steps is to move the .exe and .dll files into my fallout new vegas folder, however the file I presumed to be the script extender that I downloaded is not a containing folder what I recieved was what is stated as a "7z file" the suggested tool for reading this file was adobe reader and upon launching it was made clear that the file was not the proper file type to be read with adobe reader.

 

This is basically where I sit right now, having made no progress of mine I decided it was time to ask the experts.

 

So, any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

 

I have team viewer installed if deemed necessary by any one willing to help.
