New to Skyrim CK, Randomly Unusably Slow on Exterior Cell?

Specifically I'm trying to edit the Tamriel->NightcallerTempleExterior01 cell. Using Hearthfire as a master. I can sort of navigate for a few seconds and then things come to a grinding halt. It takes like a minute to process anything I try to do. This is on a new high end PC.

Other Tamriel cells I've tried don't seem to behave nearly as badly.

If I use only Skyrim.esm as a master, no issue at all. It's fast and smooth.

Only twice now out of 20 some attempts at working in that cell with Hearthfire loaded has it been acceptable. I have no idea what made those 2 tries work.

When searching for slowness issues I only found vague references to the "Grids to load" option which I found under File->Preferences->Misc. I can change that from 5 and apply which refreshes the render window but doesn't seem to do anything otherwise. I close out the preferences window and open it again and it's still set to 5.

Any ideas?

Bethesda Launcher is correct, Not steam.

Bethesda website.

Tools used for the modding?

Data needs to be fully extracted and Isolated for each master file in it's own folder.

Not in the games Data folder.

If it's all been extracted into the main game data folder, there will be overwrites that will not match up correctly.

IF the game is installed VIA default targeted locations AKA C:\Program Files And Folders <---- this is bad. (x86) is also bad.

you can not Modify files in the Mod installer "Vortex" I ran into other peoples problems doing this and the attempts are met with bad results.

Elevated Privileges is not enough. Hard links can not replace raw data.

Using Bethesda launcher.

Only using the Creation Kit at the moment.

I'm not working with any extracted files. The problem occurs without doing anything mod wise. Simply load up Skyrim, Update, and HearthFires esms without even making an active mod, load that particular cell (could be others, haven't found another that does it yet though), and things stop working after a few seconds. I seems like it gets hung up loading something there.

I managed to do my exterior edits on one of the times it didn't halt on me and moved on to interior things, but It would be good to figure this out before I move on to bigger outdoorsy projects.

So you know in the future.

Just a quick inspection of your exact situation.

If any errors occur at all with this software, the kit tends to fail.

pretty Flimsy software. IT loves to crash a lot too.

I am not loading Dawnguard for this mod (yet), but good to know.

I am now using the older Creation Kit with the fix pack found here. This has made it so much more usable on exterior cells. I am also disabling ENB for the CK although that didn't seem to make any difference on its own.

Perhaps other modders doing this for a while already knew to take these steps and so experiencing the same thing as I did is not very widespread.
