Treehuggerish Posted October 26, 2012 Share Posted October 26, 2012 Combined with a mod that reduces funding relating to panic level, I can see this making for an alternate way of making the game difficult. Maybe if the income could be modded into the negative so a full panic country could be saved, but it'd be costing you money each month to "keep them from defecting to the aliens"... like some sort of "we've had to bribe several government officials to keep them from signing a pact with the aliens and handing over all their knowledge of our organization" sort of deus ex machina. I like the "you can lose hard" mechanic, but I can see the attraction of an ongoing fight where you're not threatened by complete and utter end-game, just with complete unrecoverable financial ruin, that you miiiiiight be able to pick up from some lucky ufo landing mission or some such. Not that I know of, but if you want a faster game-over, or a slower death-spiral, you can adjust it so countries almost never defect, or defect very quickly.
