LE Desert Wars

New land:

Either a boat (from the Solitude port) or a land route takes you out of Skyrim and onto a large map, the key word being "large".

 

The map would be largely desert, with several lush areas in between. The desert would be a stony kind, similar to some Middle Eastern or Egyptian types. As there are less trees and other features, it should be possible to make the landmass larger and create it quicker without taxing our computers too much, but it would need custom textures and meshes.

Hammerfell comes to mind, but it doesn't have to be that.

 

Gameplay

In this new land there would be several Imperial forts on one side. Similarly, on the other side of the map there would be several forts or towns containing groups from an opposing force. I would really like that force to be the Altmeri, but if not then I think the local rebellious groups (perhaps of Redguards) would also do the job.

 

Upon speaking with the local commanders of each side, the player would be able to join the effort against the other side by:

- Accepting small missions to steal something or assassinate someone, similar to the custom missions existing in the game now.

- Partaking in random battle instances (I suppose these cannot contain too many NPCs, but at the same time, as players are getting better and better PC hardware I think we should be able to handle "interesting" numbers by the time the mod is done).

- and if this is possible to script: capturing and holding enemy forts. The enemy would then randomly try to retake their forts and, as the player cannot be everywhere at once, some forts would eventually fall and have to be taken again.

 

 

 

Why do I want this? - I basically want to take my Roman Armor and Weapons Mod, then create another mod with Eastern type armor and have battles on the new land. My own Parthian wars :P

 

P.S. it would be a real bonus if someone could figure out how to make NPCs use the bow while on horseback and how to make NPCs move in formations. Can you imagine a horde of Eastern archers vs Roman formations....I can dream can I not?
