How do you import custom meshes from Blender to nif?

Alright, hello mates,

I created some original meshes and textures. I have everything in blender file format (.blend). I am using Blender 2.49, 2.72 and 2.8 and I installed nif plugin. But when I try to export my model from Blender, a small file xxx.nif is generated and model is not exported at all. I have tried to export from 3ds and other file format files but nothing works. Export to nif creates only this small .nif file. No errors etc. It seems that export was successful but it was not. :(

I will provide more information if needed. Thanks in advance.

Could you help me?

For which game? (This question would be best asked in the game related forum) I'll assume Skyrim as there's no Blender exporter for Fallout.

Curious why you're using 3 different versions of Blender. In 2.49 you need to follow Oblivion export process and convert in Nifskope. In 2.72 and 2.8 you can export as Skyrim. What is produced in the nif file you do get?

I messed this post a little bit up.

I created some models in Blender 2.72 and some in the latest one. I have not managed to install nifskope plugin for 2.8. therefore I use the older versions.

Skyrim Special Edition

After exporting from Blender a small file called something.nif is created. When I open this file in nifskope, nothing is inside, no meshes etc. This file is very small, around 1kb or so.

Ok, stick with 2.72 it'll probably be easiest for you. Blender 2.8 has a few issues with the plugin right now anyway.

Make sure you're following the proper export process. Here's a good guide.

Also understand there is no direct export from Blender to Skyrim Special Edition, it's an export to original Skyrim and you'll need to convert once it's a proper nif with another tool like Nif Optimizer.
