How do you import custom meshes from Blender to nif?

There are animations for static objects or particle effects than can be created in nifskope if you have advanced knowledge of how they work, but that is not the kind of animation you're trying to create.

Animations for characters or creatures are a different kind of animation, requiring an .hkx file and a behavior file, neither of which can be created in nifskope.

You could try looking at this set of tools on how to animate although it looks specific to characters and not creatures but may be adaptable. You'll need FNIS to create the related behavior files.
