[LE] How do I determine if my mod is crashing because of too many NPCS?

I notice when i walk to certain locations at certain times that the game would crash. My mod adds a bunch of npcs close to the gates of whiterun and sometimes when I approach the game would crash. I am figuring that the reasoning behind this is likely NPCS. I have a similar problem when i approach fort greymoor when it is about time for the Draconians or Amazons to attack. My mod adds Amazons which attack the Draconian castles and the forts. Draconians will march from their castle to attack the Amazon camps in the Hold forts. There is a dragon with the Draconian group. I am guessing that this could be stressing my game. I also notice that if i walk close to the Draconian castles the game will crash after the dragons spot me. There are three dragons on each castle. Two go out with each Warband and the last stays with the guards to protect the Dragon castle.

The only other idea for why the game might crash is if there is a Navmesh conflict. I am guessing most Navmesh conflicts would simply result in NPCS doing odd things and are less likely to cause the game to crash.
