3d studio max mesh import that actually works?

I don't like 373 much either, the way it displays the bones makes it hard to work with. Currently using version 372 which seems to be okay, I still need to do texture edits in nifskope but that doesn't take long.

There is a maxtool plugin being worked on, still in experimental stage with some kinks to work out.

I managed to create two similar sets of armour. Sexier varyation on the female foresworn armour. I managed to get it to render by copying the complete body from a good nif to an exported one then copying the textures and stuff for the armour, One thing i might try iscreating a nif with only armour in, no body or skeletons etc then imortant it into 3ds then exporting to a different file and see if i can determine what changes, i would imagine it's something like loss of data through miscasting or incorrect precision or something

Sounds like an interesting approach. I'd be interested in hearing how that works out.

Lots of differences. does seem there is an accuracy issue. I can't help wondering what tool bethesda use to make thier meshes etc. i bet they don't have to go through this palava
