BlackAlpha
A user named "ndervish" said: "Hah! Solved it! Steam pushed a new config file which is in your user data rather than the main game directory -(user profile)/My Documents/My Games/XCOM - Enemy Unknown/XComGame/Logs/EMS/XComGameCore.ini. (Don't ask why they're hiding an ini file in the Logs directory...) This file contains instructions to wipe the armor, weapon, and (base) character stats arrays, then rebuild them with all vanilla values. Open it in notepad and delete everything except the first line and you should be good to go again. (Don't just delete the file or else it will be automatically recreated with all the same resets.)" It got me wondering. Can we use this to our advantage? Put our ini changes into that file to load mods more easily? I'm trying this as we speak. BlackAlpha
It doesn't work. I made a change to the file. Put it on ReadOnly. But the change still got overwritten when I started the game in online mode. Not sure what purpose that file serves, but there must be something else doing the actual overwriting. Still, the file is quite curious because by looking at the contents you'd think it's the cause of the problem.
