BBGUN007
Whenever using the RoyBatterian 4GB FNV patcher I can not generate saves. I have an intel I58600k slight overclock to 3.7ghz with a Geforce 1070Ti 8gb. 16 GB ram 500Gb ssd about 200Gb free 1920x1080 144hz. Windows Home 10 64-bit. I am using steam File path is C:\Program Files( x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas. I am playing on the most recent patch with all DLCs. I am using vortex with loot for the load order and I use either Mod manager 2 or FOMM for archive invalidation. I can verify the integrity of files through steam to fix the problem and remove the 4gb patch but then I cannot have my mods working. With all mods disabled and a fresh install, I downloaded the 4gb patcher and that seems to be the reason why I cannot save the game. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552. I also use nvse and anticrash.https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635?tab=files , http://nvse.silverlock.org/. 0 0 FalloutNV.esm 1 1 DeadMoney.esm 2 2 HonestHearts.esm 3 3 OldWorldBlues.esm 4 4 LonesomeRoad.esm 5 5 GunRunnersArsenal.esm 6 6 ClassicPack.esm 7 7 MercenaryPack.esm 8 8 TribalPack.esm 9 9 CaravanPack.esm 10 a Vurt's WFO.esm 11 b Functional Post Game Ending.esm 12 c TLD_Travelers.esm 13 d Tammer's Standalone Weapons Mega-Pack.esm 14 e Th3OverseerCore.esm 15 f jokristinascloset.esm 16 10 More Perks.esm 17 11 More Perks Update.esp 18 12 UnlimitedCompanionsFixed.esp 19 13 Headhunting.esp 20 14 WinchesterM12.esp 21 15 Follower Tweaks.esp 22 16 fiendgirls.esp 23 17 JustHitMarker.esp 24 18 No Witnesses.esp 25 19 B42Inertia.esp 26 1a Inventory Search.esp 27 1b JustVanillaSprint.esp 28 1c CasualFollowers.esp 29 1d PerkEveryLevel.esp 30 1e The Mod Configuration Menu.esp 31 1f Reload Sounds.esp 32 20 Immersive Hit Reactions.esp 33 21 NPCs Can Miss.esp 34 22 EVE FNV - ALL DLC.esp 35 23 boa ncrpahelmet.esp 36 24 Boacombat2glove.esp 37 25 jokriss.esp 38 26 joredmoxxi.esp 39 27 CASM with MCM.esp
dubiousintent
Your problem has nothing to do with the 4GB Patcher, so long as you are applying it to the Steam version of the game. Your symptom has been reported when applying it to the GOG version, which does not need it. Please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the original default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files(x86)" folder tree was bad (they learned better, and don't do that any more); and why "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. As much of a PITA as that is, it's never going to be any easier than now. System updates often cause issues with games installed to these folder trees. With the game moved out of the default location you will not need to be running it as an "Administrator Account", which is safer. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article as well. Disabling "User Account Control" (UAC) only stops Windows from prompting you to grant "administrative" credentials to an application that the system says must have a "UAC elevation". Disabling UAC does not automatically then enable the permission for such applications. Instead, (for all intents and purposes) it automatically denies them. (Please read this MS article on how it works in Win10. The basics have been there since the inception of UAC with Vista.) Your "save game" files are located in your "C:\Users\<AccountName>\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV" folder. If you can't save to there, then something has changed the default file/folder permissions preventing it which should give your account "full control". I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so. It is designed for someone who has never played a modded PC game before, so it tries to avoid making any assumptions. -Dubious-
