SKsniper128
So I've been fiddling around with Resource Hacker and added in a default suppression ability for normal rifles (ex-special forces elites don't understand the a concept taught to basically everyone in BCT? Not on my watch.) . But I was wondering what kind of effect if would have if I gave the LMG and it's derivatives a default suppression ability. Would the Heavy's 'Danger Zone' Skill still do damage when I suppress a target? or do I need the Heavy's specific 'suppression' skill to do that? -SK Edited October 25, 2012 by SKsniper128

SKsniper128
The suppression variables don't do anything. I'm not quite sure I follow, I've already tested out adding suppression to the rifles and it works beautifully. Are you saying that I would need to have the Heavy's Suppression skill in order to take advantage of Danger Zone + Mayhem? -SK

Just giving a heads-up. As far as I know, only the suppression abilities do actual suppression. I tried experimenting with the suppression variables on the weapons, but they didn't seem to do anything. SKsniper128
Odd. I added eAbility_ShotSuppress to the rifle, and my assault trooper was able to suppress a Muton and reaction-fire at the Muton when it tried to move. I've also seen people add Headshot to pistols and it functioned, I think >_>. -SK

SKsniper128
That's intresting, is there someway to tweak the data so that Mayhem will have an effect without getting the class skill? Or is it hard-wired into the class ability? -SK
PepprmintButler
On a side note, ShotSuppress applied directly on the soldier works for all weapons equipped, but does not consume any any ammo, so not a great idea.
graaa
He's saying the actual iSuppression value on weapons in the INI doesn't do anything. Yea... just confirmed this myself. Added suppress ability to the assault rifle, set isuppession=100, took my grunts and had them stand outside of cover and then suppress with their new awesome assault rifles against some sectoids. Next turn the sectoids promptly 1-shotted both grunts suppressing them with the supposedly -100 aim suppression... Would have loved to had this work so that I can free up a perk and add a different one to the ability tree...
