3D modelling problem - black faces

I'm modelling some stuff for a mod I'm making (with Blender) and occasionally I get a few faces on a model that show up black in game, sometimes but not always in the CK as well. Was just wondering if anyone had any idea what the problem is or how to fix it. I've tried re-unwrapping, and deleting and remaking the faces but it usually doesn't help.

 

I'm also wondering how to replicate the effect on vanilla models that makes them shaded at the edges. It shows up in Blender as well so it must have something to do with the model itself. I've noticed the models are made so that the shaded area has its own faces separate from the unshaded part.

 

One more thing, I'd like to know why my models have odd issues with collision. I add it using chunkmerge as explained in the tutorial in my sig. Works fine for the player, but it doesn't work so well with arrows, spells, etc. and there's no sound from footsteps or anything. Maybe something to do with havok material? In chunkmerge there is a dropdown box that the tutorial says should list materials, but it's empty for me. It says my model has a material in Nifskope though.

 

Not really expecting anyone to be able to help me, but if you can I'd really appreciate it.
