chazzranger Posted November 21, 2019 Share Posted November 21, 2019 Been working on a personal Breezehome mod on and off for a looong time, learning more about modding as I've gone along. I just learned it's very bad to delete vanilla navmesh! Good times. So IIRC, I deleted all the vanilla Breezehome indoor navmesh and built my own. I know it's possible to fix deleted navmesh - but I read that if all the navmesh in a cell is deleted, it removes all references to the vanilla navmesh. Then when you create your own fresh navmesh, CK will assign it a different reference ID, and then it's insta-CTD when that cell opens. Is this even close to being correct? Is there a way to revert and entire cell's navmesh back to vanilla? Or do I have to rebuild this mod from the ground up? :( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
maxarturo Posted November 21, 2019 Share Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) Use "Tes5Edit" and remove all your "Dirty Edits".You can not actually delete the NavMesh from the game, it gets deleted only if a loaded mod (loaded esp) has the cell's NavMesh deleted, if you don't load that mod then the NavMesh will load as it's suppose to load. It will not assign a different reference ID, but the same that's not available anymore, but this is cause if you delete "Markers" and if you don't "Finalize" your NavMesh. Nevertheless, it's a very bad idea to delete anything vanilla especially NavMesh, there are some ways you can add your own NavMesh and still keep the vanilla one. One way is to select the NavMesh and drag it under the floor (in a Z axe).The other is to select all the NavMesh and in the NavMesh tool section with all the NavMesh selected (this is more useful for exterior or if you need to move just a part of the vanilla NavMesh and keep the rest).NavMesh > Move Selection to Seperate NavMeshNow move it all bellow the floor.But this approach has the disadvantage that "sometimes" this will still show up as a "Dirty Edit" in Tes5Edit. (i don't know why this happens or what triggers it). * Also there are some similar tagged Topics from other users at the bottom of this page that might help you learn more about NavMesh.
