taleden
ok, im prolly being a bit dim. currently. I have python installed. ive extrated the patch file. and i can click on it to run. it quickly loads a command window and closes. I cant read what it says. And i cant see how to set the patcher to use my modded file? I'm hoping to add a GUI eventually so you can just click it and then set up what you want to do, but for now like tbkiah mentioned you just need to open a command prompt in that directory and run it that way, so you can type arguments to the program and see what it's outputting. Daemonjax
I'll have to check this out. Since dreadylein's been MIA, dose may include GUI support for it in the Mod Manager program we're working on. I'll leave it up to him, though, since he's doing the GUI. ;)
taleden
It's now posted as a utility on the main site: http://xcom.nexusmods.com/mods/51It no longer requires Python to be installed, you should be able to just download, unzip and run on Windows XP or later. BlackAlpha
What happens when two mods modify the same setting?
taleden
What happens when two mods modify the same setting? If they actually change exactly the same field, then the later one will still override the earlier one; no way around that. But, I'm hoping that the ability to combine mods will in turn mean that mods become a little more specialized than they are now. Authors won't have to feel obligated to cover every aspect of the game in one mod, since users won't have to choose just a single mod to use anymore; that in turn will hopefully reduce the number of mods that conflict.
