JeremeW5257 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I want to assign custom clothing/jewelry mods to female NPCs in game, but want to do it with the CK, instead of doing it individually with console commands. I haven't been able to make this work yet. Here's what I do... - Open the CK- Select all the custom mods I want in game- Make a new .ESP file to save the changes For example...I'll pull up Camilla in the CK, but want to give her custom earrings and a necklace. I can add them to her inventory, but she won't actually wear them in game. If I go up to her and use the console command "equipitem", she will wear them. Is there a way to assign them to her "outfit" and not carrying around "inventory"? This has to be possible, but obviously I'm missing a step somewhere.
frakle Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 yes im having the same problem, giving an NPC armor in the CK they do not wear it in game unless i trade items with them and take away a piece of their armor
rarborman Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) You have to go in and swap their normal wear for what you intend them to wear. Load CK, make new.esp, load up all your plugins with your new.esp as active, type in the name of your selected actor (for example lydia, is housecarlwhiterun) in their invintory you will see two dropdown lists that are labled default outfit and sleep outfit, if you change these it will let you change their worn clothing, but in order to get new outfits with custom clothing your going to have to make a new outfit, go find outfit in items creat a new and open it up, go into armor or where ever your item you want in the outfit is, click it, drag it to the outfit window, and let it go, it will now be in the outfit and be worn by whomever you set it to be worn by in their actor window, save, activate your plugin and go look at your custom outfit on the npc. Warning dont put items in the outfit unless your sure you want them, because you cannot pull them back out. This has been an important service announcement from rarborman, please stay tuned for your normal broadcast of helpful insight. If you just add the item to their inventory they wont wear it. JeremeW5257 Posted October 28, 2012 Author Posted October 28, 2012 I was hoping to just add a piece of jewelry to an already existing "outfit" rather than creating a "new outfit" with everything included in it. I can see how your way would work, but it's going to take me a lot longer to do what I want to do. I'll have to create several "new outfits", then go back and re-assign most of the female NPCs to the "new outfits". Thanks for the info thought
rarborman Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 You could prossibly just add it to the outfit they wear but I'm not entirely sure it would work, best bet is custom outfit for them to reload what they wear.
JeremeW5257 Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 I was able to edit the already existing outfits by adding earrings and necklaces, but it won't show up in game. It shows up in the CK, but not in game...even when I select the NPC's inventory or hit resurrect. I'm sure it's a bug or something. I'll keep trying to get it to work.
rarborman Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Does a custom outfit work? I'm not sure why editing the outfits wouldnt work, I guess your on your own.

I'm getting a little sick of a floating head asking Me "what can I do for you"
