Obsessed117
Its puzzling...why on earth do we have to have the same amount of hotkeys available as consoles? I mean, theres PLENTY of spare keys on the keyboard in this game. There was no reason for beth to not give us the ability to map any key to an item except laziness. It looks like its once again, up to the modders.

BlindSniper
Yea, despite that the obse mod to give more keys in their previous game Oblivion was extremely popular, they went with the ol' 8 (or was it 9?) key route again. It's not so terrible in this game since there isn't a big selection of "spells" to choose from, but it'd agree it'd be nice to have more for my often-handy dart gun and nuka grenades
Deleted269910User
This would require an utility like obse that would be for FO instead. The main problem is that the game engine lacks the utilities required to do this without extensive scripting work, which again shows how much bethesda actually intends to do by itself and how much to leave for the modders to do.(The female faces look like male ones to be completely honest, inbred anyone? At least that problem is being worked on.) Mainly what we need hotkeys for is quick swapping of armor(Radiation suit and normal armor for example.), weapons for close and long range, mass destruction + healing items. These alone take a lot more keys for binding than 8 that is provided. Hopefully we'll have a mod that enhances the hotkey system relatively soon, after the necessary beauty packs.
