Texturing help

Hey guys, just need some help with a mod I'm working on.

Basically I spent the last few days making a mesh (I'm a complete noob when it comes to Blender) and I have finally finished it and I feel awesome. Now I have some problems with mapping textures to it.

I know how to do it and all, but here's what bothers me: when I unwrap the UV maps and export them, they appear as white images with outlines of the armor parts. This wouldn't be a problem if I was only putting various pieces of armor together, I'd just paste the old textures there and recolor, but I've been changing shapes and everything too (most noticably fitting a male armor model to a female body), so does this mean I'd have to start texturing from scratch?

So, here's what I'd like to have: if someone could make the UV textures and a basic texture layout(?) for the armor (I only have the raw mesh so far, so that means you'd also need to apply the seams in Blender). Only black and white will do, I can color it myself - I can do retextures, but not start something from scratch. Maybe there's a way to fit the old texture to the new mesh and I'm just not seeing it, so basically any help or tip is very appreciated.

Here are some screens of the armor if anyone's interested:

The chestplate is from Geonox's Restored Riot armor, fitted to a female body, the pants are from a RobCo jumpsuit, the pouches on the back from a leather armor, the knife holster from the Ranger patrol armor, the belts, mag pouches and flask from DTO and there's a small part of the merc grunt outfit under the chesplate.
