TheNexxusOne
I play with settings at Ultra High and experience no framerate problems at all, but I have noticed some odd behavior with terrain textures that I do not quite know how to fix. While running along in the world, I will often notice that the terrain texture on the ground will go from the Ultra High resolution to a much lower resolution and then "snap" to the higher resolution several seconds after I start walking on the low res terrain. Is there a value to force the game to load high resolution terrain at greater distances so that I don't actually start walking on the low res textures before the high res stuff gets loaded up? Also, which fallout.ini valules should I modify to increase the load distance for trees and buildings higher than the standard "ultra" settings? I hate it when I am running through the world and buildings and trees start popping up out of no where in the middle distance. Thank you!
PuceMooose
There's a TweakGuide for Fallout that mentions the tree LOD on this page: http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_7.html It's about halfway down the page, and mentions a procedure to extend the tree LOD (among other settings) past the values allowed by the in-game launcher.
