And voila! Except for two problems: THREE problems: your two PLUS - it wouldnt work. ¬_¬ compile your voices, rename into the correct titles and post them out for download... when i get a chance next week i'll sort out getting them into a mod. its NOT as easy as you think though and you WILL have to replace some of the existing voices: there is no way at all to add new voices (atm) I do audiobook casting with a slew of variety when it comes to accents. If someone can give me a list of what actual phrases need to be said, I can look into this from a professional direction (as in actual VOs doing actual voicework in actual studios). Basically, what Firaxis should have done. I'm more than happy to help out with this. Here's what I'd need: 1- A phrase-by-phrase list of what is needed. 2- Assurance that this will work (since this will cost me $$$, as I'm hiring professional voice talent). The question would then be, how would we want this broken up, nation-wise? There are nine male voices and six female voices in XCOM. Should every option be a different nationality, or should some nationalities have multiple options? The game tends to favor (in my experience, anyway) certain nations, such as America and Russia. Would we want that represented, or would we want each option to be totally different. Here's what I'm thinking, at least preliminarily: MALE1. North American (Caucasian)2. North American (African-American)3. British4. Irish5. Russian6. Nordic7. Hispanic8. Asian9. African FEMALE1. North American2. British3. Russian4. Hispanic5. Asian6. African A couple quick notes: don't take my options of "Asian" and "African" as generalizations. The truth is, we just don't have enough slots to have specifics like Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc. Unfortunately, all we can do is the best that we can. To a certain extent, people would just have to use their imaginations. Basically, the only difference between the male and female lists is the inclusion of a second North American dialect (for African-American, which encompasses IMO a majority of the Americans in the game), an Irish dialect, and a Nordic dialect, since that seems to be one people have indicated they want. Honestly, I wish there were 20 options for both genders, but this is all we have to work with. How do you choose between much-needed dialects like German, Australian, French, Italian? Until someone figures out how to replace and add voices, we're just going to have these kinds of shortages. It's unfair, but it's Firaxis. Nine and six slots are all we have to work with. Anyway, I'm open to thoughts on this! Edited November 7, 2012 by thebayoubullet
