S1lver8ack
So I've seen a thread or two about this, but all of them are a few years old and I don't seem to have the same cause as the other threads I've seen. My problem is a persistent, complete game crash when I get anywhere near the Ritual Stone, regardless of approach direction. I'm in the process of getting my SSE and mods up and running again after a couple years off, and things are mostly going well as far as getting the kinks sorted out, but this is the one thing that seems to still be causing me problems regardless of save or character. I've reinstalled every mod I'd like to use, while trimming a few things off to try and lighten the load on the game, and made sure that my texture/lighting mods and such are loaded in an order that seems to adhere to the reading I've done, but this one problem still persists. As I said, I've seen a few threads discussing a crash near the ritual stone, but from what I read, the issues those players were having involved mods I don't have installed. Any useful help or suggestions for routes of investigation are much appreciated, as I'm not the most experienced modder(I'd be a lost cause without Vortex or previously, NMM), and I've run out of ideas. I can do my best to provide screenshots or whatever anyone looking to lend a hand thinks might help. Thanks for your time. Edit: An update. I appear to be having the same issue when I get within about the same distance of Orphan Rock when tracking down Nettlebane. I'm experimenting with uninstalling and reinstalling mods and loading a quicksave from nearby the spot where this is happening, but so far no results. And the same thing is happening at Orotheim. I've been trying to think of some obvious connections between these places that might be the common source of the problem, but with no luck. I've since uninstalled all of my mods and SSE, and reinstalled them, double checked the suggested load orders and everything. I'm sort of out of ideas, and the problem I'm having is anomalous enough that I'm having a hard time searching for solutions.
