ammo vending machine

This would be a easy mod to script but you would need a couple of things.

 

1) A place to sort the items.

2) would need to know how in depth it would be sorted. (example: all ammo goes into a container or sorted by ammo type or even further all 9mm hollow points in one container)

3) A way to activate the script.

I've actually got an idea, and a good chunk of a script written (didn't even take an hour for most of it). The limitation with mine will be that you can only purchase ammo for the gun you have equipped, but the plus side is that it will detect all mod and DLC added ammo.

 

I did hit a minor snag, in that one of the shotgun ammo types has exactly 10 variants with GRA, and that will take some extra handling, but otherwise it shouldn't take too long to do.

 

 

An alternative to the scripted message form would be to have a dummy vendor activated through the vending machine. The inventory could be reset each time the machine is activated, with new ammo types being added if they're detected on the equipped gun. However, that could miss mod added ammo, depending on the setup. The scripted method I'm working on won't miss them. I opted for the script because I'm much more familiar with scripting than making NCPs.

Alright, I've actually tested the work in game now. It seems to work perfectly for any gun equipped, and should handle an unlimited number of ammo variants. So it'll work with GRA, Caliber, etc. Any mod that adds ammo to the game. As with the Weapon Mod Vending Machine mod, I'm putting a markup on vending machine ammo. It'll be configurable, but the base markup is 3x normal cost for the convenience of buying as much as you want of any ammo type.
