I don't have a plugins.txt file

OK, i understand the problem with esp files not showing up as checked in the launcher, but my problem is that i have no plugins.txt file!!

I also un-hid the folders so that is not the issue...

I'm experienced with installing and deleting mods in Oblivion, i had over 100 mods installed and never had issues.

So in excruciating detail here is the situation:

In XP i went to c\Documents and Settings\ where i had three folders: All Users, Default User, and (my user profile). The only one of these three folders that contained a Fallout3 folder in its Application Data folder is All Users. I have the following files in the Fallout3 folder of All Users:

Data1

dat1.hdr

data2

engine32

layout

setup.exe

setup.txt

setup.inx

setup.bmp

setup.ibt

setup.isn

As you can see the is no plugins'txt file, what is going on?

I know some mods "might" be working because the no god mode in VATS caused the game to warn me that some files have changed etc... just like when switching oblivion mods. I just want to check and see what mods are loading, but i can't find the file that tells me!!!

No i didn't look in the wrong place i just omitted the full folder structure when typing this post.

C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Fallout 3

Those user names are All Users, Default User, and (my Username).

Now only All Users had a Fallout 3 folder in the App Data folder, and it did not contain a plugins.txt.

Am i supposed to make said file and manually add in the names of the esps i want running?

Ummm, the path you described were C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Fallout 3. That directory also contain the files you describe in your initial post.

You need to look in C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Fallout 3. Anyways, I would stop using the terribly bugged launcher, and start using Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM). Among other things, it actually allow you to load new mods, show the mods you wish to load and launch the game.
