llloyd
So. I am getting ready to start a new game so I am going though my mods and removing / adding mods for what I am going to play as next. I decided to update my ENB and some other mods based on an MXC Mods video. So I backed up my ENB files and drag / dropped installed just the ENB files from T.A.Z Visual overhaul, repacked the included files in the mod's data folder so I could install that like any other mod, installed ELFX , uninstalled Clear Water and installed Real Water 2 with the optional ENB water textures, installed Water Color for ENB which needs Real Water 2, installed SMIM and added the ELFX SMIM textures (again, since I had done that backwards, I just packed up the ELFX SMIM textures as it's own separate mod and installed that), reenabled my Khajiit mods (Khajiit Speak, the patches, etc) , and a bunch of other mods I used to use for a Khajiit play through. Bottom line is now the nights are way too dark. I've already uninstalled ELFX , tweaked with Claralux, and no major changes, the night is so dark even holding a torch I can only see a few feet in front of me. Night eye only help a tiny bit and makes the edges of my screen stretch. Even tried NEO's 300% and adjusting Predator Vision to 100% brightness in it's MCM menu. Nope, pitch black. My last run before I changed ENBs I was using Claralux and Climates of Tameriel , TAZ isn't compatible with CoT so that got uninstalled. But that was too dark until I uninstalled the Bash Patch, and on this run I am abandoning the Bash Patch entirely, it broke too many things. So one of the new mods I installed, or even TAZ, has made the nights super dark. Anyone know how to fix? Thanks! llloyd
Update: On the suggestion of another website I Shift+Entered (after using Claralux to go into 'test mode' to disable player controls) and tweaked the ENB settings, set Night to the same values as Interior and it's a lot better. Still got the weird stretching effect when I use Night Eye, even if I disable the NEO Tint esp file. So I am not entirely sure what controls that. Will research further but always welcome advice and knowledge. Especially about ENBs. Update 2: Think I found it, in the /enbseries folder is the enbeffect.fx.ini file, found a Night Eye Warp Enable that I set to false.
llloyd
Update 3: That was weird. Started the new play through. Went to Riften and my FPS tanked to single digits. A lot of quit -> uninstall new mod -> reload , rinse and repeat, I figured out it was none of the new mods I added, but when I removed the official HD texture pack (in Steam I unchecked it, and, oddly had to, in NMM, uncheck HighResTexturePack02 and ..03 as Steam didn't remove them), leaving just the Skyrim 2k Texture pack off of the Nexus, and that fixed it. But now ELFX is broken on reinstalling it. When I readded it the world went pure bright white. Oh well, guess that'll have to be the next playthrough. On another note, this is even weirder. My system is not slow by any means, a Ryzen 1700X, 16gb of DDR 4 specifically for Ryzen, and a MSI 1070 Ti , huh, yeah, should be able to tank that no problem. Going to go out on a limb and take a wild guess that it could be the secondary (Drive E: ) WD Black 4tb drive I have it and all my Steam games installed on. Mechanical drive and all that. Been wanting to get a 4tb SSD or M.2 to replace it. Just pricey is all. >.<
