Fallout 3 Restoration Project

I do not know if it has been mentioned previously on this forum or others, but this is something I would like to see nonetheless.

I have really been scavenging the mods spread about to put together as my own little unofficial restoration: Revelation UI, SagerFallout(soon to test out Welcome to The Wasteland and will probably switch over), Closer to Fallout Cursor and Cross Hair, Deathclaw Retex from Fallout 2, Original Combat Armor, Original Leather Armor (both from previous fallout games), and last bot not least, Fallout 3 Classic Music Mod.

I cannot stress how much I loved the original Black Isle Studios Fallouts (One and Two) as well as the lore within the game. Are there any plans, whatsoever, to bring this game back to the past games of Fallout 1 and 2? I have heard mention of people liking to see Mod Teams being put together, this would be one of those great things such teams could work on. I am sure there is an infinite list of things that people would like to see from the old fallout games, but I will leave that for the community to post below.

Thanks Much to those of you out there that bend your backs to bring back the pioneer elements of the original Fallouts. Many thanks as well to the modders out there deciphering how to get things to work!

I think it might be a good idea, but I guess not many people will be interested in that because of morroblivion project... People tried to recreate morrowind in oblivion and it was going well for a while, but Bethesda stopped that due to legal issues... I think this project might be tackled by bethesda...

I love the idea, but I kinda think it would just be easier (and less legal headaches) to just create new regions in the world. Instead of trying to continue from existing lore, creating the wasteland version from existing towns might be more interesting anyway.

Pick a city, get a team, and start creating it based on the 50's version of that region. What would actually be even more interesting to see is if someone did Alaska, or China... just to expand on the existing mythos in the game.

One thing that would be fun would be for someone to try and recreate the old fallouts useing fallout 3, sure the mechanics are really different but it would be fun to enjoy those stories with modern graphics. Also I have a question, Bethesda really stopped a that morroblivion thing, I don't know much about legal matters but whats wrong with people doing something like that as long as they don't charge anyone for it?

Seeing that Bethsoft now owns the rights of the Fallout Franchise single player (And in 2013 Fallout MMO Rights if Interplay does not have it finished), I do not see why they would mind. I'm not saying turning fallout 3 into fallout 1 and 2, I am saying giving it the feel that the other games had. The turn based combat system, for example, as well as other mechanics. Not limited to, of course, switches to the perks, skills, and S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s to the previous games.
