Custom races & weapon positioning

So, I'm sorry if I'm appearing as lazy, but there are two things you have to understand:

- I am not a PC user. I'm operating BootCamp from my MacBook Pro laptop, so I'm honestly not sure what I'm doing.

- I've read the mod descriptions, and frankly, they may as well be in Spanish, I am so confused.

SO...I'm asking if someone could give me a step-by-step walkthough of how to:

position the ONE-HAND Loner Sword (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16751) on my BACK, using the female CBBE body custom Dagi-Raht race (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20627).

And again, because I'm not a normal PC user, I'm still not entirely sure I know what I'm doing when I use the Creation Kit. So If you can answer my question, remember I'm a PC moron. Go slowly. Haha!

Thanks.

Oh....okay, never mind. I didn't need to do as much as they said I needed to do. The combination of:

Armed to the Teeth (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9614#content)

Armed to the Teeth w/ custom weapons (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15373)

and Skyrim Weapon Positioning - Weapon on Back (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15658)

did everything like I wanted. I didn't need to do any editing, or use the CK. Hmm...alrighty then. xD

I have no idea what you just broke! But I can help with the original question.

Weapon positioning is controlled by the NODE placement in your assigned skeleton. You can use the CK to find this by inspecting your custom race, but that's all in that regard. To change the placement you would have to use a compatible .nif editing program like NifSkope

A simple walkthough would be something like

While staring at NifSkope, make a backup of the file you are about to edit and then...

1= With NifSkope, open the correct skeleton.nif located in your meshes\actors\character\ RACE \body

2= select the node you wish you move; i.e. 1handed/2handed/something named what you're looking for!

3=Right-Click that node, highlight Node, Attach Parent Node, select Ninode

4= Select and Right-Click the NInode you just created, highlight Transform, select Edit

5= Now comes the fun part

6=Use the X,Y,Z locations of Translation and Rotation to move the Node in question to the desired location

7= Once you mess with that and decide you have no idea what you just did, move to #8

8=Click Accept at the bottom of the edit window

9=Save in the correct location! Did you make a backup?

10=Stare at yourself

11=Now comes the really really fun part, Rinse and Repeat from step 1 until desired effects are achieved.

This ofcourse is the 2nd easiest way, the 1st being find an existing skeleton that matches what you want, may I suggest Custom Skeleton Replacers Or, you could go the most difficult route, yet most rewarding, and make your own from scratch.

If you need any more help, just ask.

i have a question, does editing 1 handed node also changes the whole weapon positioning for other 1 handed weapons? for example if i want to change only war axes weapon sheathing placement, will maces, swords, and/or daggers positioning be affected by the change(s)? thank you.
