Hold the reload button to holster your weapons, also hold the pipboy button to turn on the pipboy light... I learned these features really late in the game :)

I agree that fallout III is not a sequel, if you try the game with an objective perspective, the game is really good... There are some minor issues that needs clearing out really, like the child murder, lvl cap (both solved thanks to modders :)) but if you compare them to the previous fallouts, I think fallout II was the best of it... I never forget playing Tragic the Gathering :) or Harold the Ghoul :D or having a car and it was being hijacked in new reno (I guess)

I think instead of comparing them, we should enjoy every one of it seperately :D but fallout III has some real issues with sneaking and stealth kills... These issues should really be sorted out...

Thank you! I wondered why I was seeing no difference after installing my first mod (the PIP Boy light). heh.

I only last night figured out how to repair items. I have a high repair skill but was thinking I needed items I hadn't yet found. D'oh. One only needs another item similar (or exact in the case of weapons) to what is being repaired. I wonder what else there is to discover. heh.

I'm having a blast (pun intended). I did read that some people are already on their nth time through the game, though. Does it not have the scope that Oblivion does (minus mods)?

Cheers.

Actually, what makes Oblivion a long long experience was the two expansions and enormous amount of mod quests and such... Fallout does not have that scope just yet... I guess people did beat the game and started again because there is a lvl cap... Such a nonsense, I am alreadyat lvl 20 but I found some great mods that beats the lvl cap to 30, 40 or 100... Also there is a work around for skill point cap... I tell you I am lvl 20 now and I didnt even explore the half of the map... so if there was no workaround for the lvl cap I would go beat the game :) and of course start again... But now there is a workaround so take a look at it... It is a great addition to the game...

So actually it is a huge game nevertheless, for example some quests like nuka cola challange and the regulators are fun to do... there are many things to do in the game too, if you did write the wasteland survival guide, the scavangers out in the wasteland tell you about it :) actually one of it thanked me for that... or listen to meatdog talk about you... The DC ruins are like a labrynth, didnt explore the half of it... I recently find the city underworld... I messed up some quests so I need to beat the game and start with a new character :) So there are numerous things to do in the wasteland, dont think it will be done after 40 50 hours of gameplay :)
