veronicamaid
I downloded some cosmetic mods that required simply unzipping them in your override folder, but it didnât work so I tried using the DA mod manager instead. Even though it said the mods were compatible and installed, when I loaded the character creator the mods weren't there, the only mod that was present was the mod More Hairstyles that I downloaded earlier using the Vortex. How can I make more cosmetic mods appear in the character creator? I always use CharGenMorph compiler by the way.
Thandal
Which mod? Which other CC mods? (Also, Vortex is pretty useless for DA mods. And none of the mod managers do a good job with CC mods anyway.)
veronicamaid
I tried downloading this hair mod, this one, and Alternative default eye texture. I have installed the mods: Freckles plus, better makeup, BSC, Tweaked Alistair, More Hairstyles, Eyebrow Presets, Change your hero hair and face, all of them through the Vortex. The only CC mods that worked for me are Freckles plus, Eyebrow Presets and More Hairstyles. Edited December 10, 2019 by veronicamaid
theskymoves
If cosmetic mods aren't appearing in the CC it's either that they were not installed correctly or they weren't added to the chargenmorphcfg.xml. As Thandal indicates, Vortex is a very poor choice for installing any DAO mod, and no cosmetic mod requires a mod manager for installation. One of the mods you indicate is not working does not include a chargenmorphcfg.xml file for merging, and requires manually editing your XML. Do not copy/paste the applicable lines from the blog post text, as the XML requires 'straight' quotes, not 'smart' quotes. Alternative default eye texture and Better Makeup just replace the vanilla options, so if they aren't working they aren't installed correctly. Check your override folder. (The eye texture may require a graphics setting that is not the lowest one, so check that as well.) The only mods on your list that add new options to the CC are the three hairstyle mods. Uninstall everything you've installed with Vortex. Reinstall the mods manually (download, unzip archives, and copy files to the game's manual override directory; i.e., [drive letter]:\[user]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override). Place the chargenmorphcfg.xml file for Look Hair-Inquisition and More Hairstyles in the applicable mod's folder, and NOT in the root of the override directory. Run the CharGenMorph Compiler. Then, make a backup of that newly compiled chargenmorph XML. And finally, manually edit the XML to add the required lines for the one hairstyle that does not have a mergeable XML.
