Logan had gotten on the bus before Daniel, and opened fire on the Walker's pursuing Daniel from a open window. When the bus left he was anything but happy to see Lucy crying. He walked over to her and attempted to calm her down. "Shh... Hey calm down alright. What's the matter?" Logan asked while wiping her tears away.

Before continuing however he yelled to Daniel "Newbury Street. There's a gun store and down the street, near the Boston Science museum there's a Grocery store."

With the out of the way he turned his attention back to Lucy and continued to try and calm her down. "Hey, don't worry. It's going to be fine. I'm here and I won't ever leave you. Alright? Now tell me what happened."

Lucy told Logan the whole story and he was furious. He however was happy to hear that one of the kids stuck up for her, and he would be sure to speak with her later. But right now he had something to take care of. He stood up and started walking towards the kid who fit Lucy's description. However Lucy stopped him. "Logan no! Mr. Curtis took care of him." Logan turned to Curtis and nodded his head, silently thanking him. With that Logan and Lucy sat back down.

Curtis barely heard the quiet voice asking his name. He looked at the source of the noise and saw a girl, quite odd even to him.

 

"Curtis. Now, come on, on the bus, big group of walkers coming. Very bad. We're getting somewhere safer, or at least getting there faster." He wasn't naive enough to believe that simply because they had a bus they were saved.

 

Walkers were beginning to appear in a steady stream now, coming from wherever Daniel had been. He grabbed Excalibat, dropped his backpack full of food (incase he died, the group could use it.) and charged out the door. He began systematically dispatching walkers in order of how close they were to the bus. Until the bus was about to go this was what he would do. He constantly looked back to see if the girl had gotten in the bus, or if any walkers were coming out of the school. He took a cautious approach, taking them out individually where he could. The increased agility afforded by the lack of a heavy backpack came in quite handy.

A strange look came over Melody's face, and she drew the saber she wore at her belt, charging alongside Daniel. She beheaded 3 shamblers, (Walkers) and did a graceful pirouette, beheading several of the rotten buggers around her. She had a manic smile on her face, and she called out,

 

"Come get me you sons of b*tches! You killed my family, and now you're gonna get to apologize in the afterlife! DIE!" Several of the walkers lurched towards her, only to be beheaded. After a few more moments, her manic rage calmed down, and she realized she was facing quite a large number of zombies. She sheathed her sword, who grumbled at the fact he was still bloody, and ran to the bus, saying to the other fighter,

 

"Come on! Those russian mutants will turn you into one of them if they bite you man!"

Damnit ... Alice sat up, her breathing was harsh and erratic and she was covered in a film of perspiration ... she had to get another fix, her hands were

trembling and she felt so cold.

Damn you daddy ... she quietly said to herself.

You ok in there ? ... yelled Dr John.

C-Co-comin-n-ng, b-be out n-n-now ... she replied.

You sure ?

Yes, yes ... she replied making her voice sound more confident.

Ok then, just checking ... he said ... sounded like glass breaking.

Alright already ... she yelled through the door.

 

Alice had just walked back into the bathroom to rinse the toothpaste from her mouth when it happened ... she had had another blackout.

Composing herself and fixing her face in the mirror she turned and walked back into the dining room ... All ready she said ... trying to sound

all perky and energetic.

About time, ye gods, women in a bathroom ... the good Dr chuckled as he shook his head.

Alice looked at the window she had thought she had jumped out of and shook her head ... Giant talking storks ... she said to herself ... oh heck no.

Oh oh right I'm ready ... she said ... so can we go now ... she asked Dr John and Alexia, as she picked up her shotgun and wriggled her shoulders settling

the straps of her backpack in place.

Despite everything, Curtis didn't flee from the fighting. He might be crazy, he might usually set survival first, but he still had morals. Kids were more important than him, and these walkers were an immediate, direct threat to them. Curtis brought Excalibat around for another blow, and downed another walker. The horde that Daniel had mentioned seemed to be approaching by now, and soon Curtis would have to switch to his gun or be swarmed. He retreated swiftly back to the bus.

 

"We need to get this thing ready, now!" He shouted, and then charged back into the fray.

 

Excalibat was hysterical with joy, cackling as he killed one walker after another. Luckily for Curtis they weren't swarming yet, or else he'd be dead already. As he charged to take a particularily curious walker out (he was looking for a way into the bus from the side.) Another one pinned him to the wall, and Curtis barely kept it from biting his arm. He shoved it back, knocking it over, and finished it off with a few quick stomps. He retreated to the door of the bus, put Excalibat back in its sheath, and drew his pistol. Taking careful aim, he systematically took out a few walkers. His kill count so far, including the ones he achieved with Excalibat, was around seventeen.

Armed to the teeth, they left the Dr's apartment and quietly moved toward the elevator.

Alright then keep back from the doors we don't want any nasty surprises ... he said kneeling with his

rifle pointing to the doors.

It should take around 30 seconds if it was on ground floor.

Alice could hear the distant sound of the elevator growing louder ... it's almost here ... she said.

The ping signalling that it had arrived sounded ... ok then ... Alice thought to herself as she took aim.

The doors opened ... nothing.

Alright then let's go.

The good Dr pressed the 1st floor button, the doors shut and down they went ... around the 16th floor

they briefly heard some walkers rasping excitedly as the elevator shot past them.

Finally they arrived on the 1st floor, everything was quiet and deserted, quickly they exited and headed

for the stairwell a walker met them halfway down.

Alice kicked it in the face, it staggered backwards and then in one swift motion she buried her

screwdriver into it's skull.

Another walker entered the scene coming from the floor above, Alice grabbed it's heel as it came down

the stairs and yanked, the walker fell face forward onto the steps and came bobbing down ... Dr John

shot an arrow into the back of it's skull.

Damn more of them ... Alice said in a loud whisper pointing upwards ... here they come.

Logan removed his Leather Jacket, Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt showing, and walked off the school-bus with his Carbine loaded. Logan stayed close to the bus, so he could get back on if need be. He aimed down his sights and fired off two bullets into the head of a female Walker. He turned to the Walker closest to Curtis and fired off five bullets. Three of the bullets hit the Walker's torso, one of the rounds missed and the last hit it in the right side of the head. The Walker crumbled to the ground.

Lucy and Myles ran up to Daniel at the driver's seat, begging him to hurry. "Danny! Please hurry!" Lucy said. "Mr. Daniel, you have to do something!" Myles told him.

Meanwhile back where Logan was sitting, his radio was going off. A transmission was coming through. "Logan? Logan? Son are you there? Damn... Alright then... This is Colonel John Howlett of the United States Marines. I am trying to get in contact with my son Staff Sergeant Logan Howlett."

The girl who had stood up for Lucy earlier heard the transmission and picked up the radio. She spoke into it quickly, due to how happy she was "Hello? This is Natalia Mejias, I'm a student at Humphrey High-school in Boston, Massachusetts. Your son is with us and we have also have another marine with us." Natalia got up and ran to Daniel with the Radio. "It's the military!" She informed him.

Curtis, who had almost been attacked by a walker to his left before it died, looked for the source of the bullet, which turned out to be Logan. He nodded back. He didn't see that hippie girl anywhere, and feared the worst. A cluster of walkers tearing and biting at something a few meters behind the bus convinced Curtis that she was dead, although he saw no body. He fired a shot into the forehead of a walker, and his clip ran dry. He reloaded his pistol, which was urging him to flee now, and killed another. He retreated to the door of the bus.

 

"Hurry! Hurry! Lots of walkers, attacking me, swarming me, overwhelming me!" He just barely managed to execute one that went for his throat.

 

He drew his knife, and held it in the hand that was supporting the pistol. Any walkers that got too close were stabbed in the eye. Curtis could only go so far before he was bitten, or eaten. He could die through means other than a bite and turn to a walker, like one of his friends did. He could see that some of the children on the bus were starting to get incredibly scared, the close prescence of so many walkers too much for them to keep a cool head around.

 

The radio in the bus blazed, and Curtis heard little over the sound of gunfire and walkers. He did, however, hear a bit about it being the military. He shook his head. The military had dissolved, only people that would be rescuing this group was themselves.

Daniel revved the engine of the bus. "Logan get aboard!" He yelled, the girl told him of the military. "Tell them we need an extraction for twenty children and three adults, tell them to give us the location of a safe Landing Zone and we will meet them there." He told her as he waited for Logan to get aboard.

Curtis hopped onto the bus almost immediately, stabbing any walker who came close. He was covered in walker blood now, mostly on his sleeves. Luckily he had no open wounds for the blood to get into. He killed another walker with a swift knife thrust to the left eye, and held out his hand to Logan, intending to pull him onto the bus as fast as he could.

 

"Logan, come on!" He urged, and stabbed another walker. Swamped with fear and adrenaline, it wasn't as obvious as usual that Curtis was insane. His weapons still talked with him, though. Excalibat wanted more walkers dead, Poindexter was suggesting several constructive uses other than as a weapon. Rodney and Euryale were silent, though.
