Message of the day for the Nexus Chat?

When ever there is problems the chat seems to be a common port of call for ppl saying "is X issue happening etc" so maybe adding a type of MOTD might help? One that can be edited by all staff and preferably chat mods as well.

I understand the chat itself is not hosted by Nexus but rented via IP board so changes that can be made are limited so maybe a section on the rules page just above them that can be edited like a forum post by the people in power so they do not have to repeat every 30 seconds that yes there is an issue see X forum post.

Obviously some (well probably most) do not read the rules page, but maybe this could help the staff a little.

I think this is a good idea, but unfortunately, most people don't even read the rules and so won't even read that message. Having it being able to be programmed in would be great so that it appears at the top all the time, even when chatting, but that would have to be up to IP.Board.

It would be great if this could be implemented in the forum like the NEWS line that shows on each game front page. It's already implemented there, and the whiners still can't see it. :wallbash:Possibly a Breaking News link on the top of the forum? But to get their attention it would have to blink and change color.

It's a nice idea Mica but I also agree with everyone else - no one would read it Sigh_by_Eru21.gif

Still it's better than get spamvalanced with all the same questions. Even if it stops one or two it'd be better than not having one at all. Just as I'd never want the rules page removed just because a lot of people don't seem to read it before heading into the chatroom.
