Syssiah
Hi! I installed Skyrim SE and mods, and everything was working perfectly fine. Then I installed FNIS, launched it, and no matter what I try, the game crashes after I click on "New game" or "Continue game". Plus I can't remove FNIS, no matter what I do. Iit keeps installing back when I try either to unable or uninstall it !! I already deleted my skyrim se game, then dowloaded it aagin, but it didn't solve the problem. FNIS seems to be stuck in Vortex, and won't go off. Anyone could help me please ? Regards
anjenthedog
Can't say as this *will* fix your issue, but fwiw.... When you install FNIS, make sure to run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe as a standalone to initialize FNIS following installation. (that's what the directions say, anyway) And when running it outside a normal vortex autoinstall download, (ie manually from the desktop) uncheck the two default boxes: "File redirection (Vortex/MO profiles support)""tktk 1's "TK Dodge" (unless you have TK Dodge) the first should be obvious...you're not running it as a vortex initiated execution, so it'll throw an error. The second...depends on whether you use that tk dodge combat enhancement mod. I don't, so it always gets unchecked. In addition, even when Vortex is firing FNIS as part of the deployment of a new mod that includes new animations, if you have a a lot of animations in your stack, it can take a little while for it to pop up. And whenever FNIS is updated, you'll need to run GenerateFNISforUsers manually again one time to initialize.
Syssiah
Thanks I did this. And it won't solve my problem. The game still crashes. Is there a way I can TOTALLY unistall FNIS from mods, without Vortex putting it back by force ?
anjenthedog
Honestly, I don't know. I've never tried uninstalling FNIS, since I've never really had any reason to and every reason not to, (although I've replaced it with subsequent versions after an update), but (academically speculating) I suppose that if you removed any mods which list FNIS as a dependency, then Vortex would have no need to run FNIS. (presumably it's downloading and installing it on its own (odd) because it sees elements of the game configuration that need FNIS, no?) Other than that possibility, I really have no idea. Not sure why FNIS would be a problem anyway, but it clearly is for you, so that might be something I'd try if I could not solve the underlying problem that's resulting in your symptoms. However, it seems drastic. You must have some other mod installed that's gumming up the works. Hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable than me will have the answer. Good luck!
