paweltoja1997 Posted December 18, 2019 Share Posted December 18, 2019 (edited) Greetings,The problem is exact as stated in the title - the game CTDs before or shortly after quest related dragons (tested repeatability with Alduin & Mirmulnir) encounters.I got first CTD shortly after I started the new game, when Alduin used Fire Breath near Hadvar and some old man. At first I thought it was very serious issue and immediately took action by looking if any people had same problems. After reading many posts stating that it's normal for the game to CTD at that exact moment when you have many mods installed I decided to ignore it. After I reloaded the save it worked normally as it should, no crashes. The rest of the opening sequence ran smoothly until I got out of the cave with Hadvar. The game crashed again. I thought that it was an identical situation than the last time - main sequence tends to get bugged. Reloading the save fixed the problem once again, no further CTDs. After the first quest I've been there, done that... Stuff you usually do. When I decided to come back to the main quest everything worked fine until Irileth said the last famous words before the CTD (the gibberish about the dragon not being here right now but the place looks like he's really been here). The game immediately crashes everytime she finishes that sentence. I've been experimenting with mods (tried disabling some of them and seeing if it works if I disable specific ones) and it seemed like the source of crashes was Immersive Citizens. I tested like 5 times if it works without that mod and it indeed worked everytime. I was happy and sad at the same time because I found the potential source of crashes and had to remove one of the most essential mods for me. However all of that ended when my game crashed again even without Immersive Citizens after relaunching Skyrim. I've spent a few hours trying to find the cause, cleaning safe-to-clean esps using SSEedit and even trying to create patches for the even most minimal and not relevant mod conflicts. Sadly all of that went without success. Perhaps some of you had problems with similar mods list and could lend me a hand? Before you ask:- Yes, I use LOOT and stick with it's load order unless stated otherwise by specific mod author. LOOT shows no conflicts, only some harmless warnings about non clean files (I won't be cleaning files that aren't verified safe-to-clean).- Yes, the game is original Steam version.- Yes, I generate FNIS idles everytime I add animation mods. EDIT:Looks like the problem lies within meshes or textures, not esps or scripts. Disabling all mods alone didn't help but once I deleted meshes and textures folders everything went back to normal. Is there any way to find out which meshes/textures cause problems? I use some Oldrim texture mods (some of aMidianBorn armor mods) but they have been checked via SSE NIF optimizer. EDIT:Using Skeleton Arms Fix patch on FNIS was apparently the cause. After unticking it and generating behaviors again the game no longer CTDs. Problem solved.
