SenpaiMuffin
The new change to the download system is causing a bit of confusion, and there's so many asking or pointing to very similar questions: if they can disable it/bypass it, stop seeing it every time they get a mod, if the mod system can be reverted, etc. Please consider addressing these questions, and making it clear that this already has a solution. Thank you.
HiroshiMishima
Telling people to pony up the money they may not have is hardly a solution.
Dukoth
if you're referring to premium then that's not a solution, we want it back the way it was, with no popup when we download files, we shouldn't have to pay for that there is no confusion Edited December 19, 2019 by Dukoth

Mods can still be accessed free, but I'm seeing way too many people blow this out of proportion due to a few extra seconds. In the end the little extra time doesn't affect much. If it's that big of an issue to someone, and someone REALLY wants the former download method, then yes, it is a solution. If they would rather not pay a very tiny bit to access it (even for a single month), then it's not that important to them (granted, some may not have the option to buy it at all but that's a very miniscule amount). Dukoth
you dont get it our experience was made objectively worse suddenly and with out warning nor explanation for no other reason than to extort money from us it doesn't matter if we're free users, we deserve to be treated better than this
Hellfog
Due to the way the new download system works, people won't get premium because they genuinely want to support the Nexus but because they want to get rid of a problem that was not there before. Let's be honest here, the new download system is not an improvement over the old one, it's natural that people won't feel enthusiastic about it, right? I understand from the Nexus' perspective that the premium service was just not visible enough, after all it's basically the life-blood that keeps the site running and puts food on the staff's table, they need to let as many people as possible know about it, and they should. But from the average user's perspective it probably looks like they manufactured a problem and are now selling the solution, as Dukoth said above. Which is why I don't think it's the right tactic (but hey, it seems to work for FO76 and it's repair kits , maybe... ), you're not actually endearing users to your service, you're creating apathy at losing usability you had before. The reason the Nexus has such a stable position as a modding site is because it was absolutely painless to download mods, and getting yourself Premium was because you actually wanted to support the platform. Of course mods are still free, and servers still cost money, but the Nexus is not the only site that had to face these problems, and there are better ways to advertise your service than stepping on people's toes with it. A monthly donation target, selling merch, a different patreon for the site itself, the ability to gift premium to other members, etc. Edited December 20, 2019 by Hellfog
