Linky1
Hey all, I was talking to a friend of mine on facebook and we were discussing making mods, and he was saying how he doesnt wanna mod skyrim because it looks hard, but I gave him my word I would teach him and told him to open steam so I could show him how to get the 'modding kit' I called it, I was reffering to the creation kit. Anyway he said 'Steam?' and I said yes you should have it and he didnt have it. I told him that he should if he hasnt illegally downloaded it but then he said it was second hand off amazon. He also has crash problems on save. i was wondering if their was a fix for either of these problems. The main thing is how can we get him the creation kit in a LEGAL way? We really want to mod together but because of this drawback we cant. I found one file for download that looked legal but he had to go so we didnt test it. Anyway can someone help with this problem of not having steam? I know we could just download it but still it wouldnt detet skyrim in its library and he still has the crash on save issues I presume. Please help us find a solution or tell us what it wrong :) Linky1
modder3434
If it truly was a legit copy of skyrim that he bought thru amazon, he would have to have installed steam to play it, even if he bypassed steam to install it so it wouldn't take for ever. Sorry but it seems your friend is a pirate... which is not supported here on the nexus

bben46
If it is second hand who knows what he has - I'm sure he doesn't. Selling pirated copies is an industry. The thief gets the money and the game maker gets nothing. And the suckers who buy these blame the game maker when they don't work. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If he complains to Amazon, they will shut down the pirate for selling counterfeit goods. And the pirate will just register a new account and it's business as usual. If they are in the US, there is a govt agency that will take his complaint - and might eventually raid the seller if they get enough complaints - but that doesn't do the sucker any good. Here is their link: http://www.stopfakes.gov/consumer-tools/report-fake-goods These type of pirates are hard to nail down as they can easily move to a new location, register a new account with a different name and create a new website and address overnight. He should also contact Amazon and report them. Maybe he can get a refund
