gandore
As most already know the CK was updated on steam to work with the latest update of Skyrim. However I'm having problems with the latest CK update and was wondering if anyone here could help me with it. After selecting the files I want to edit in CK and clicking ok I get the following message. AssertFile c:\Skyrim\Code\TESV\TES Shared\misc\BGLocalizedString.cpp Line 2860 LOCALIZATION: Error opening or reading Strings file. Abort Retry Ignore I replied Retry. Then I get the following message: MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Zero entries or empty block size read from String File Strings\Dawnguard_ENGLISH.STRINGS Strings will be missing "Yes to all" will disable all Warnings for this content Replied "Yes to all" At this point I get a Windows message window saying that Creation Kit has stopped working and I'm forced to close the program. It's there a way to keep Windows from terminating an unresponsive program. I seem to remember having to do this before with the CK but I don't remember how. Anyways is there anyone out there who can help me this or point me in the right direction. Thanks.
modder3434
I was getting the same error. Checking the Bethsoft forums and other sites, it became clear that this isn't an issue affecting everyone. It seems this is a Dawnguard.bsa issue. What I did was download the SkyrimEditor.ini from here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/21741, and now the CK seems to load just fine. here is the solution from your duplicate thread, so you can see it and apply the fix without making more duplicate theads. you gotta be patient when you post a thread.
