CaptainPatch
I checked all the vampirism threads I could find, but I haven't seen any that addresses my particular problem. Sometime during Dawnguard I missed that I had been infected and now my Dovahkin has all of the Vampire spells available, so I guess that means he's stage 4. All the advice-givers say, "Go talk to bartenders and ask about any rumors that they heard." Well, I've visited every innkeeper and bartender I could find and asked about rumors, but NONE of them are mentioning Falion. Without that, I can't just jump ahead and visit Falion, because that won't trigger the quest. So now every day I have boiling blood, but there doesn't seem to be able to do anything about it. Any advice? Any kindred spirits? Feel free to whisper the answer in my ear; I promise not to bite when you get close.
ginnyfizz
Do you go and feed before you try and talk to people? Might help if you did, their disposition will be better and they will then talk about Falion hopefully.
CaptainPatch
Ouch. I've never liked that aspect of vampirism: somebody has to _die_ to feed -my- hunger. If it was me, I'd try to get by on livestock -- which then gets turned into hamburgers; waste not/want not -- which never seems to be an available option. Oh, well, time to go find a sleeping bandit somewhere I suppose. ADDENDA: I must be missing something when you say "feed". I took that to mean "use Vampiric Drain on a victim". Which I have done, but that _still_ isn't enough to trigger the bartender rumors about Falion. I'm getting seriously tired of having my blood boil in sunlight, and being 100% vulnerable to fire (double damage?). I really want to shake this condition so it's not so much of a distraction. P.S. I've been wondering about the sequence of all this. You're supposed to wait until you're Stage 4 of vampirism, which is where NPCs will attack the PC on sight. But then it says, "Go talk to a bartender and ask about rumors." How can you do that if NPCs are attacking on sight? ADDENDA: Never mind. I went to the Redwater Den, drank from the Bloodspring, and contracted full-blown vampirism. Then I went home and slept for three days. That did the trick. Woke up with a terrible thirst and burning blood. Visited the nearest inn and was off to see Falion. Now I'm all "clean and sober" again!
