adoption limit removed

Fair enough, all I'm saying is that there are a lot of changes suggested here which affect world textures and objects, this sort of thing can lead to problems, so if there are two versions of the mod, one which has everything asked for and one which simply lets you adopt as many kids as you want, more people would be satisfied. I've come across some awesome mods in the past, only to realize they remove the floor in a house, or crash your game because they conflict with other mods, doing less is often more useful than doing more. However I also see that having all these things in one mod is a good idea too, for those who don't use many mods.

I propose 2 versions of this, one with heavy scripting and one to simply remove the limit.

There is no "simple limit", at least i haven't found a simple variable dictating how many children you can have. The limit of adopted children is technically, as those "scripts" i mentioned before tell the adopted kid that it actually IS adopted, so it stays at your home, call you mommy/daddy etc. without these you could talk to another kid, tell it it's adopted but it would keep standing in place as if nothing happened.

Honestly I'm just happy that so many people also want this mod. Is there any modder that can do this?

Also want. Met the flower girl in Windhelm and need to give her a home, have oodles of empty beds!

How about giving them different scripts when they're in a home? For example, the first lucky two get to sleep in beds and everything. The rest can stand around pretending to be weapon racks or coat hangers. I imagine they'd be a bit too short to pose as armor mannequins though. Edited by Trucidation

I have been wondering about the adoption limit myself. I just got dawnguard and hearthfire recently but haven't played them yet. What is the total adoption limit? Also what is the total adoption limit per major hold? From what I am reading here so far it seems like only two kids can be adopted in the whole game two kids total?

Yep, you can only adopt two kids total for the whole game.

WHAT!!!!!!

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

That sucks, omg that sucks so bad!

Yeah I definitely want to work on something like that once I figure out HF and really get into it I will try to find a way to fix this. I really hate how my player houses are empty most of the time and it would be a real nag to hear kids wandering around begging for food in every city.

Well actually, you can create a child for yourselves without the adoption idea. In the Creation Kit, you set the Relationship and the Follower package and make them stay at your home. Their Voice Type being added should already have the scripts where they can relate to you as the parent from when the child actors had recorded. Just make sure that you load Dawnguard when you start the CK. You can have as many children you want with this concept.

I am so glad so many people seem to want more children. I love Heartfre, but can't stand to pass all those wandering cold and hungry children. I have multiple homes that I never visit once I purchase them so I can stick two kids in each. Since I don't mod I have only a vague idea about how much of a nightmare all this is would be for some. I was hoping it would be simply going in and changing a number in the files... 'sigh' but things never seem to be that easy any more. Since so many people want this mod I am sure some compassionate, family orientated modder who can't stand passing those wandering children...begging while cold and hungry in the harsh Skyrim winter.... "shiver" will come forward with their wonderous skills and help us right this horrid situation. Sherrid Edited by Sherrid
