No OOC in the roleplay itself

Well hello there everyone! This is my newest and hopefully one of my best Rp ideas, and before i created this thread i made sure to do an interest check with a quite a few of you via PM, enough to see whether or not i could start it with a stable amount of members, and it looks like i can, so without further ado, i present The New World Blues.

Welcome to the discussion and OOC thread for The New World Blues.

In 2013, the world as we knew it ended. Though not as anyone might think, nor as any doomsday prophesy described.

More than 90% of the worlds population was wiped out by a super-bug, that attacked human's hearts and killed within mere minutes. In only 3 days, nearly all human life was destroyed.

The year is now 2500, and Humanity is still holding on. Scientists had found a cure for the disease, and the survivors went on to breed new generations of human beings, continuing Humanity's cycle of life.

But all is not what it seems, in the two remaining cities on the globe, which house all of humanity, places seen as the very height of civilization, as bastions of light and hope, hide darker secrets then the humans could ever imagine. The leaders of these final human settlements rule with an Iron fist, having started out as an aid to the people, the families that rule having been shepherds to humanity's survival, have turned to tyranny, locking out the natural world beyond the huge walls that contain each city. People do not live lives of greatness as they believe, instead, they reside within merely a gilded cage, being tricked and deceived, and held in fear of there once gracious rulers.

Not only do the people face tyranny and dictation, but a frequent problem within these society's is a severe memory loss and dreams about events which never happened, people commit atrocities in the night and remember nothing of it the next day, as if they had done nothing wrong. Some forget there own names, others there race entirely. But for all but the most extreme cases, sleepless nights and hardship remembering are the most common features of the average person. Many scientists had theories that the Cure that defeated the virus had these side effects- But were silenced by the government before any information could be let out.

But all hope is not lost, an extremist revolutionary group known as the Recalcitrancy do everything they can to cause hardship for the government, attacking there patrols, disrupting their bases, scrambling there communication, and assassinating there parliament, getting closer to uncovering the truth behind the strange problems the people suffer, and unveiling why the government rules with such an iron fist.

However resistance against such a force is not taken lightly, and the punishment for even association with the Recalcitrancy is death, meaning there agents must work in secret, hiding among society, and covering there every move.

Rules:

My rules are generally not too constricting, follow the Roleplay guidelines and we won't have any problems. Although there are a few additional rules for this Rp i'd like to point out.

1. No rulers. You may not be the ruler of either of the cities or any of there districts, nor may you be the leader of the Recalcitrancy, or the Chairmen of the government. You may not be a general or any other rank within the army that commands high numbers of troops. From personal experience having characters in high places, and seeing characters in high places, this rule will stop a lot of over-powerful characters coming into being. Doesn't mean you can't have a high rank however, like a commander of a squad of special troops, a respected scientist, etc.

2. No "Special" characters. Now, that means in no way you may not have a quirky, unique character with an interesting past, different features, hair colour etc. It is just in place to ensure there are no "Dragonborn's, Nerevarine's, Hero's of cyrodiil" and other characters touched by prophesy, fate, or are destined to save the world from the clutches of it's tyranny, or the one who uncovers the secrets that are buried in the city. You know, basically no godly beings who are better than everyone else.

3. Please be realistic when relating your characters age to there job and rank, it is highly unlikely that an 18 year old will be a respected politician or military officer.

Request:

Variation. Please look out when making a character sheet that you take a look to see how many characters are in your faction. If there are already 4 bad guys, try to make a good guy, If everyone is on the same side then it won't work overly well.

Important details:

State of Technology: Not vastly different from the modern world, so no laser weaponry and spaceships, or hoverboards and things related to that type of sci-fi. But there will be things like bullet modifications so they can poison opponents, or disrupt electronics. Many types of implants and upgrades are available, like targeting modules, robotic limbs.

Cities:

Sustenance- The smaller of the two cities, and is where everything commercial is situated, it features warehouses, factories, shops, company buildings, and contains a smaller residential are than hope.

Hope-Hope houses most of the military's garrisons and training academy's, it is largely residential and features schools and university's,

Vehicles: As the two cities are all that remains in the world, Vehicles are not in great demand, instead there is a large tube system that runs from Sustenance to Hope, and buses and cabs are what most people use if they are not in the mood for walking. personal vehicles do exist, but most don't see a use for them.

Weapons: While guns remain almost exactly the same, utilizing bullets for projectiles, Chemical weaponry has become popular also, featuring widely used dart-weaponry that fire needles filled with fast-acting poison. Many small and easily concealed explosives are available.

The Recalcitrancy: They have safe houses in both cities, but share orders and messages with there agents away from these bases via a drug known as "The blue pill" Once ingested it releases it's orders to the agent via a mental recording, which "plays" in the agents head. They are incredibly organized due to having to be so secretive, and most agents work through espionage, although there ranks include soldiers to destroy military patrols.

Memory Loss: it is the feature that distinguishes humans from there ancestors, as every person alive has suffered at least short term memory loss for an extended period of time, those with more serious cases can live out a whole day, maybe even a week, and remember nothing, sometimes committing crimes unknowingly. Those with the most severe case are stricken to live forever without a memory, there whole existence like a shadow.

Scientists: Scientists hold some of the most well paid jobs in the world, creating new chemical weaponry and finding new ways to utilize our technology. Some also study memory loss, and those who come close to finding it to be a side effect of the great Cure are silenced. permanently.

The Government: As stated, they rule with an iron fist, and there Chairman controls everything. From the military to the media, they control it all. The people are fed propaganda to make them believe there government is still the shining beacon it once was, and most people have no idea of the tyranny. However those who do and dare to speak out are silenced.

Background: Logan Howlett, was born in the year 2475 to a family of Military officers. When he graduated from school, he went away to a military college where he graduated at the top of his class, in Military tactics.

When he enlisted, he was promoted to a Major upon enlistment and quickly rose to the rank of colonel. However when a riot began in the heart of Hope, he was ordered to fire open fire on protesters. Several weeks afterwards Logan resigned, barely escaping execution. However Logan was born with a type of memory loss that stayed dormant for most of his life. It was triggered during his escape and he now remembers nothing of his life prior to enlisting.

He then joined the rebellion and was put in charge of a special rebel tasks group, codenamed: The Templars. They excel in Assassinations and Sabotage. Most of it's members are former government Special Forces and Intelligence Officers.

Name: John O'Neil

Age: 31

Race: European

Occupation: Military

Alignment: Neutral, edging towards good: While he is still brutal when ordered, and does not accept civilians messing around, he is known amongst citizens as being more lenient and not being abusive.

Appearance: John stands at 5'10, with brown hair and brown eyes. His look is stern and he is always clean shaven

Armour and/or clothing: Millitary uniform

Weapons: Assualt rifle, Magnum, Batton, Combat knife

Skills: Tactical prowess, Quick thinking, Accurate

Personality: John believes that in order for humanities survival strict order is needed. Fed by propaganda about the government, John believes that this is the only way. He knows it isn't pretty, but survival isn't pretty. A few must die so others may survive. That is the law of nature. Right now, he's proud to be part of the only thing standing between the government and an insidious enemy, an enemy who would destroy everything he is working towards. An enemy who would see earth in ruins.

Background: John was born in Hope, thus meaning he's been receiving the government propaganda all his life. In his school work, on the news, on the streets, everywhere. This being drilled into him, John truly believes the government is doing it's best for their people, even if it doesn't always have a pretty blue ribbon on. John is considered to be a top soldier, accepting orders as they come, if with a side comment at some of the more... zealous... orders.

Name: Emile Dupree

Age: 32

Race: African

Occupation: Rebel

Alignment:Evil: Extreme Anti-hero (Hero only by name, because the people he fights are worse than him)

Appearance: Black, average height, very short black hair with several scars on his face and a missing tooth.

Armour and/or clothing: Brown trousers and a black T-shirt with varying pieces of armour. Some of it is military issue, stolen from the soldiers he's killed. There are also a few rebel pieces in there, no prizes for guessing how he got them...

Weapons: Shotgun, Kurki Knife, Pistol

Skills: CQC expert

Personality: He may say that what he wants is to win the war, but what he really wants is for the enemy to die. Emile is noted for being particularly bold and aggressive. It is noted that Emiles excessive use of force makes it hard to field him against civilians, due to the resulting reaction in civilian media, to the degree that they would often replace him him normal operation. He also treats regular civilians with suspicion and disregard. Despite his hard outlook, he held a deep respect for his teammates. Emile is also known to handle the loss of teammates by masking his emotions with humour. Despite this, Emile is described as being detail oriented and unbreakable, being an effective member of any given unit while in the field and maintaining strict discipline off the field.

Background: Emile comes from Substance, his mother died in quick succession to his 5th birthday, murdered by his father who then committed suicide, forcing him to become self reliant at an early age. Emile attempted to join the government to fight against the rebels, but was turned down because he was deemed 'Mentally unstable', the rebels weren't so picky, so Emile joined them instead. Spending years fighting and killing for whichever side lets him kill more, he is seen by most rebels as belonging on the other side, given his intense distrust of people... and dis-regard for whether they live or die.

Okay, here is my sheet:

Name: Lisbeth Ayim

Age:30

Race: Caucasian(Ancestrally south african heritage)

Occupation: Assassin/Agent

Alignment: Neutral, borderline bad: Kills and ruthlessly dispatches people, destroys patrols, and ruins communications without batting an eyelid. It's all just orders to her.

Appearance: 5'10", green eyes, jet-black short hair, with a longer parted fringe. "Heart" shaped facial structure, wider forehead, narrower chin. She is lithe and athletically build, with a toned midriff and strong muscles.

http://www.cartelesmix.com/carteles/carteles/letraa/aeonflux05/aeonflux27.jpg

Armour and/or clothing: A set of black leather and fabric uniform, resembling a catsuit, it features 2inch wedge heels, a thumb covering for each hand, and cut out panels on her back and cleavage line. The section around her spine resembles a corset, but the lase's do not constrict. Holster on her back.

Non uniform is a large variety of other clothing.

Weapons: A 9mm concealed pistol, a variety of small explosives, Martial arts.

Skills: Primarily acrobatic and gymnastic skills, free-running, variety of acrobatic martial skills, unarmed combat, stealth.

personality: Cold, ruthless, and detached from any feelings when on the job, believing only in getting it done, and not trying to dig deeper for reasons. When living her 'Normal' life away from assassination, she is still rather cool, but has a sense of humour and is a good listener.

Background: Born in Hope she was subjected to the political propaganda of the governments tyrannical regime, and used to seeing the glinting armour of the military troops. She originates from a middle class family who did well in trade, and ran a small store. She attended school and finished, and was generally top of her game in anything physical, being an accomplished gymnast before she finished. She enrolled with the military on a special subterfuge program they had opened in the hopes of training silent operatives to route the Recalcitrancy's operations. It took her years of training to perfect the arts of her teachings, but was one of few to actually finish the course, emerging from it at the age of 24, and being skilled in all things assassin. However she had been sent to eliminate a family of innocents who were overheard talking in disfavour about the government. At first willing to carry out the orders, killing off most of the family, she soon came to question it when children came into the equation. Incapable of bringing herself to kill them, she disappeared without a trace from the clutches of the government, and decided to lend her skills to the Recalcitrancy. Soon after joining, she suffered a severe bout of memory loss, which the rebels used to their advantage, they mentally reconditioned her to believe she had always been a part of there operation, and to this day works in the shadows as one of there best assassins.

In recent years however she has become aware of another assassin reaching a level of prowess similar to her own, a government hired, heartless murderer named Ander Peirce, who carries out his contracts with a ruthless efficiency like her own, only without her built in carefulness.

So make that three rebels.
